Oh I know this sounds silly but 3 months in and my baby is in a feeding routine 8:30 10:30 then every 3 hours with last feed at 8pm and asleep at latest 9:30.

It annoyed me when I used to read everywhere about feeding routines, my lo had a problem with reflux and at one point was having a litre of milk a day??? Looking back now he must of been over eating to relieve the reflux, he beer had a routine and was so up and down with times. But today I have finally seen the routine lol hell go and change it next week now mummy is feeling clever!

After crying most of the day (lo, not me), I've put on videos of laughing babies from YouTube, to see if she got the message. She stopped crying and went all shy, looking at them and burying her face in my arms every now and then lol.

Is anyone doing anything for father's day? Just curious, I'm not doing anything, or maybe a card with her, not sure. I might put her hand on a card or something. I didn't want to celebrate mother's day, so not sure if now I should turn around and celebrate father's day. I just didn't want DH to buy anything, I rather get stuff that costs nothing, like drawings from her when she's older. The thing is that I wonder if I should do something for him, I know he'd like to make father's day about him and lo, instead of being a reminder of a bad relationship with his own dad. Not sure what to do but I should decide soon, I'd need to buy paint I guess.

We are getting our new bedroom delivered at the end of the month. I'm looking forward to it but it might mean moving the cotbed to her bedroom... I need to buy that second bed before it happens!

Hi sorry not had a chance to post earlier. just to say a big thank you to everyone who responded to my question about full time nursery. I feel reassured by your answers and you have really helped me get things into perspective and see that nursery can be really positive. Thank you everyone!

For those just starting or about to start blw, like me, my lo really enjoys banana biscuits I forgot the brand, I think it was organix. A bit messy because they get sticky, but because of that she also swallows some. I saw some small changein her last nappy ewww. So far, she prefers bread to fruit but also likes red pepper. I have avocado, can you just slice it up and give it to her? I never had it myself, i don't know what to do with it!!

Yes :) You may find that she struggles to hold onto it as it's a bit slippery, but give it a go. It needs to be really ripe and soft though, otherwise it will be difficult to eat and taste a bit rubbish.

My LO loves the Organix banana biscuits too! I think she loves every Organix product going to be honest - and their oat bars are great for when you're out and about and need a simple snack for her; I always keep one in the buggy.

Lol, Aiden is obsessed with the oat bars....he loves them!! Boots own version he likes too. Always have a couple in the bag.

This talk of returning to work has made me think I need to look into options round here as I've no idea of waiting lists. My first choice would be that we could afford for me to stay home and care for A myself. If I can't reduce our outgoings enough: child minder or nursery; how do you decide?

I took A to visit DH at work today, to meet his colleagues. He's been there a long time and I know all his colleagues too. She was very good whilst we were there, cooing and smiling on cue, almost like a performing monkey. I paid when I got home: she SCREAMED whilst I tried to make my lunch, even when I picked her up and struggled on one handed. Little monkey!

Fingers crossed our LO's all give us a good night tonight
  • marta - my little one has been crying/grizzling since Sunday, I can only hope it is more teeth as it has been awful :( might try the laughing babies on youtube though she mainly just tries to eat my phone!

morocha - my little one falls asleep on the booby sometimes then wakes up when she comes off, a swift change of the booby for a dummy works a treat. then when I put her down in the cot or somewhere flat, she wakes herself up so she now gets plonked in the car seat, i think she feels cosy as though someone is hugging her and she still feels as though she is with me as she has the dummy to suck. works for us - whatever it takes to get through the day!! :rotfl:

saffagal - what is the exact problem with your scar, feel free to PM me if you wish, I had lots and lots of trouble with mine after the c-section including 2 trips to A&E and many more doctors visits. My wound had actually healed but the skin was infected and then I got lovely heat rash on the scar which made it sore. I'm still numb in the tummy region and its 6 months on! Hope it gets better soon. I felt much more like myself after about 11 weeks. I think I thought once I got to the magic 6 weeks it would be fine but it wasn't!

Bamama - Great news about the rolling! :D

All the advice is hilarious - I was told allsorts mainly about breast feeding (so many people are so anti-BF it was untrue and said it was time to give up after about 6 weeks ) and weaning ("my boys were on a rusk at 2 weeks old" - how nice for them!).

Hope all are well - I just have a grumpy baby on my hands who sleeps brilliantly at night and grizzles all day - just wish I knew what she was grizzling for, poor girl!

I think it's a very personal decision, and you'll find people arguing very strongly in favour of one or the other option. Personally I think there are pros and cons to both, and you need to think through what's most important to you. If I were you, I'd visit childminders as well as nurseries to get a sense of what they're like and what you feel most comfortable with. I found this article quite helpful, or if you want more detail, this factsheet is also really good.

Hallo ladies :-) where has the sun got to?

Moneypenny, 4 weeks post I noticed staining on my underwear, got DH to examine my scar and in the centre was a one cm opening that was bleeding and leaking serous fluid too. We went to the hospital, after ringing triage, and a swab was taken and I was given antibiotics. My gp rang with the results and to change the antibiotic a few days later. DH kept checking it for me and it was healing, closing etc. Finished the course last Wed and Saturday it was closed, no redness etc. Sunday, it was red, by Tues it had opened again and there was now a three cm area of inflammation along the scar line i.e. red and angry looking area. Its right in the centre of the scar. Anyway, saw GP Tues and with cream and another antibiotic it seems to be healing again, the inflammation has gone down and its closing again. We have our 6 week check tomorrow (at 7 weeks) so I'll get GP to review again.

Nutella thank you for those links. I need to make a shortlist and then make some calls just to see what waiting lists are like round here.

Was planning to go to a mom and baby group today, but not feeling very inspired with the grey, drizzly day we have here. Must find motivation to go...
