Hmm thanks. George is currently dancing to Macklemore. Should really get him into some more suitable tunes! Video of his dancing skills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJwcOIz6XDA

    Oh, he's adorable!

Thanks ladies. He is rather cute, even if I say so myself ;):D

Ha Fluff his doing things on command is very recent, as in the last 2 weeks. We thought he was a bit dim and then suddenly he started actually paying attention to us! OH is currently working on "put your hands in the aiiiirrrr" said in the tone of a europop dj type person. Remember Scooter from a few years back? Yes. That. As of yesterday if you say lets put your shoes on he sits down and if his shoes are fairly handy he'll grab them too :D. Of course if his shoes are handy that means he's probably been licking them fairly recently, so he's not all that clever.

I remember Scooter! Make sure you post another video when he starts putting his hands in the air :D

My LO now understands 'milk' and 'bath'. And she's being brought up bilingual and understands both words in both languages, so that makes four words :) I think she also understands 'let's change your nappy'. Speaking of which, her latest thing is clapping with her feet whilst we change her nappy. It's great - keeps her lying still (ish, still compared to crawling off to investigate the light switch for the umpteenth time)!

Eta: oh, and she also understands 'come' and 'no'. Although that doesn't necessarily mean that she comes over or stops doing whatever it is she's not supposed to be doing... And she says 'ta' when you give her something - and when she gives you something. The latter is accompanied by a big smile, and then she wants you to give back whatever it was that she just gave you. Very cute :)

Clever girly! Being nosy, what other language is she growing up with? G knows no, but he generally just looks over, grins and carries on. I'm trying to use it less and start by asking him to leave whatever he's doing which seems to work a bit better.

Hi, has anyone had experience of their child going to nursery on a full time basis? I am having to return to work full time (financially we can not afford for me to go part time) when baby is 9 months. When I think about it I cry. I am dreading it. I am so worried he will hate it, or it will affect him emotionally being in full time nursery. Does anyone have any experience of this? Any success stories to make me feel a little less worried?

Candlewax, my LO only goes to nursery three times a week, but I work full time - I do compressed hours. So I do four longer days instead of five 'normal' ones, and I work from home on one of those days. So Mon, Wed, Fri office/nursery, Tues working from home, Thurs off. Would something similar be an option for you? Legally, employers have to consider a flexible working request, and they need a valid business reason to say no. Or do you have any leftover annual leave that you could use to go back on a 'part time' basis whilst being on a full time salary - i.e. taking one or two day(s) off per week for x number of weeks in the beginning?

Having said that, although I can see why you're dreading it, I don't believe he will hate it, nor that it will affect him emotionally. Children are extremely adaptable, and whilst it will take him a few weeks to settle in properly (as is the case for all children), I'm sure he'll enjoy being there. My LO loves nursery, and does all sorts of fun stuff that she'd never get to do at home :D Do make sure you find a nursery that you feel 100% comfortable with though - you want to make sure it's right for you. I found that it was a bit like house hunting - when I walked through the door of what's now LO's nursery I just knew it was 'the one'.

Sending you a big hug x
