Hallo ladies, after a sleep breakthrough on Thursday night (she slept in her moses basket from 10:30 till 7 with just two half hour feeds in between) the past two nights have gotten worse, though still in her moses. Up to now at best she'd sleep for an hour then scream and only settle on me so I guess it is some progress. Last night she woke every two hours like clockwork but took an hour to feed and resettle each time.

I'm torn now as to what to do. I can borrow a crib and keep her in my room a little longer or she'll have to move into her own room (cot) in the next couple weeks as is getting very long and won't fit. She's only 6 weeks old. DH thinks she should move out, but he doesn't get up to her. Oh dear. We probably will sleep better in our own rooms but she looks so little in her cot!

He took my car for a drive last week to ensure all OK ready for me to be out and about again and its developed a fault which needs repairing.

I should make notes about the sites you ladies post to help me out when LO reaches that stage.

I have read through but blame my sleep deprived brain for not remembering to be able to comment. Hope you have all had a good weekend and the christening went well.

    Hi Saf

I have to agree with the other girls, definitely try and keep her in your room for at least another few months. If anything, getting up every few hours and just having to stretch over must be easier than having to go through to the next room. If oh is struggling to sleep, could he perhaps use the other room, or you both alternate so that she's always with at least one of you. There are different size moses baskets too which you could look at. Charlie was able to stay in his until he was 5mnths...........x

A couple of things to recommend that I've tried recently.

Aldi nappies, their Mamia range. Just like Pampers Active Fit but half the price and without the vile smell (nappy not baby - babies always smell vile).

Some lovely songs on youtube. I normally hate children's songs because they're so inane and frenetic. But there's something called KidsTV123 which does some cute stuff. I like the animal ones. There's a great one about teeth brushing too.

Rebeca, thats one of the reasons I want some kind of bed.in her room, so I can sleep there if I need to.

Mrsharworth, mine did the same, with or without sleeping bag, because when it's not the legs it was the arms. My sleeping bags have zips all over though, she cannot get the feet out. I bought some air wrap / bumpers from safedreams, it has little holes so lo can breathe, but it's soft and slightly padded too, instead of being just a mesh. It attaches to the cot with Velcro around two bars, but it's quite adjustable because of it. I can measure it if you want.

Edit: lol, sorry rebekah, I mixed up your name and your daughter's before in this post!

    Yes please :)

So cute! And I can't believe he's not much older than Freddie - he's doing stuff on command! Freddie's such an idiot compared to George :)

NB. Never get his hair cut. :D

Oh, and whilst we're on recommendations, my new favourite thing is 'Save the Nail'. Paint your nails as per normal, then add the magical stuff and voila! nails are touch dry within a minute. Means I can do my nails in 5 mins before going to bed, and also means moral dilemmas such as the one experienced by Fluff a while back are a thing of the past :D

Currently having a pedicure, then it's back to work...

  • Lil miss is currently happily munching on red pepper strips, cucumber and hummus with pitta bread - she loves anything so long as it involves cheese or garlic i've discovered but it means so long as I provide either she'll now eat vegetables without the fuss we get when they're presented on their own.

We don't have anything with her when she sleeps but we're still up 4 or 5 times a night so think I'll utilise one of the many comforters we were bought when she was born and hope its a miracle cure to disturbed sleep!
