I love sweet and sour, never found a good recipe though that tastes as good as the Chinese, will be on the look out now, never tried it with A, he would probably like it :)

I love chilli with sweet potato wedges, I didn't have any Sweet potatoes though so couldn't do that :(

George seems to have been really sicky over the past couple of days & he's not pooed since Friday, maybe Saturday. He's still feeding as normal & seems bright enough in himself, possibly a little cuddly at times but he's always been a snuggler! He's breastfed with the occasional bottle of EBM. We're really careful with sterilising the bottles etc & following the guidance for storing/heating the EBM. Has anyone got any ideas on possible reasons why? He had his 8wk imms last week, could that be something? I asked the HV at weigh-in today but she just said its probably a phase, as he's putting weight on & eating she's not worried :/

Mrs_B, I think it was around that time that Dewi started going a lot less. I've been assured that bf babies can not go for up to 10 days. If he doesn't seem uncomfortable then I wouldn't worry. You could try cycling his legs and massaging his tummy if you're concerned... and carry plenty of nappies+outfits for the next few days. It may be explosive when it does happen XD

We had fish fingers, chips and peas for dinner :)

My poor little man has hayfever and has been in a rotten mood for 2 days. Had a doctors appt and have now got some antihistamine - within half an hour of giving it to him the swelling had gone from around his eyes and his nose was a normal colour - phew!! Bad mummy for passing it on, *sigh* he gets his eczema from me too :(

Right, boy is in bed asleep, OH and SS are out at a football match and won't be back until late - I am ON MY OWN!!!!!! This is wonderful!!!! I'm going to do some exercise while watching stuff that I want to watch on tv, and en I'm going to have a nice cold Budweiser.

Mrsb as has already been said, up to 10 days is considered normal for bf babies....as long as there are no signs of discomfort don't worry. But just prepare yourself for the poonami when it does come out!!! My boy suddenly switched from pooing during every feed to pooing once every third day around 2pm. It was quite a shock! But he was fine, that was just his rhythm. Now he's 10months and on mostly solids, he poops LOADS....bring back those sweet smelling yellow BM poos please!!! Haha

  • I'm much LESS likely to leave them with other people (and please don't use phrases such as "palm them off" like someone did on here - it's actually really offensive to describe it as such) now there's two of them... I know I can cope relatively OK (apart from teething hell - these first two just will not flipping cut despite her having bumps the size of a mountain range on her gum now) with the pair of them, I know hubby can cope acceptably with them (we still have differences of opinion about how does things compared to me) - but I know that two at once would be pretty hard going for people who don't know them as well as we do. My mum's fine looking after Erin - she doesn't do things 100% as I do - but I don't think you can ever expect that when someone's giving up time freely to help, so I'd possibly trust her to do it if anyone - but she's not a newborn person (same as me) so I don't think she'd WANT to look after the duo for extended periods yet anyway.

Haven't really had much choice but to leave Erin on occasion anyway - from her being in NICU a floor away from me and me being kicked off the unit at regular intervals to "get some rest" (ie go away and get out from under our feet), to being in and out of hospital prior to and after Robyn came - I've HAD to leave her in the care of other relatives on occasion... my mum and my younger brother (who is fantastic with her - just diabolical on the putting little girls' outfits together front)... so please don't describe it as "palming her off" onto others.

We've also had a couple of awful nights with teeth (talking waking screaming inconsolably at hourly intervals awful) - on those occasions - rather than waking two babies up, one of us has taken Robyn to sleep in the moses basket downstairs, while the other's had Erin... again - not "palming off".

It's getting rather bashy and judgemental on here lately.
I haven't caught up yet so apologies if this has already been addressed but I feel rather hurt that you have quoted a post of mine which was clearly not critical of leaving one's child(ren) with other people to have a rant about how you don't, about offensive wording that I did not use and about being bashy and judgemental (when my only posts about the matter were very carefully not). I'm sure you did not intend to but it sounds like you think I have been using offensive wording and being bashy and judgemental when I have not.

Mrs_B There is a bug going around I think, which could explain the sickness but sounds like you are doing it all by the book with the milk so don't fret. Ditto what everyone else has said about breastfed babies just be prepared when it does happen.

Turtlemoose Hope you enjoyed your Budweiser, you sure deserve, especially after looking after a poorly Reu. I love when my OH's at work and A is in bed, it's peace perfect peace here.

Sunshine Hope it's not a migraine and just a bad sore head. Migraines are awful :( I got them a lot in my first tri of pregnancy and I literally couldn't lift my head off the pillow. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight so you can catch up on some sleep.

Afm I think I may have a poorly A on my hands, not 100% sure yet but he hasn't been himself all day (he already has a cold but it hasn't been bothering him too much) but he didn't eat much all day, wolfed down his dinner and it seemed to go straight through him :( We don't get bad nappies with teething so I don't even know if I could blame that? Well we'l see when it comes to his breakfast what happens. He was happy enough to pick out his book tonight and he sat content for the whole book and it was quite a long one so here's hoping it was a one off. OH is at work so I've spent the last hour or two watching Magic Mike in bed. LOVE Channing Tatum. :j

  • What's everyone having for dinner today? (let's change the subject)

I haven't been eating properly since I had lo (only 4 weeks) I guess that's what happens when youve got a newborn! I'm under my ore pregnancy weight, which sounds good but my belly is jubbly from the emptiness. Oh and I seem to have aquired a line, you know like you see on pregnant bellies? Well i didn't have it pregnant but I now have a brown line! Gr!

Anyway I think I'll prob just have some cheese on toast. If I manage to put lo down, anyone had problems with a clingy baby? Hell sleep on me and then as soon as I put him in his basket he stretches and rubs his face and wakes himself up? Then cries till I cuddle him again? My come uppance for saying I wanted to be needed lol! :)

Banama I hope your feeling happier soon
We had bacon and brie pasta - it was delicious.

Do keep an eye on your weight - I lost 12lbs in 6 weeks early on and I thought I was absolutely stuffing my face. I actually weighed myself thinking I would have gained so it was a complete shock.

Hope your little man is okay. Fingers crossed he sleeps off whatever it is.
