Morning ladies, how is Noah now sammie? Hope a bit better.

Yep I got my hair done thanks sunshine and Nutella :). I was brave and got a big cut - good 4 inches or so off and got a fringe too! Really pleased with it, just have to make sure I go regularly now to keep it in good nick.

Hope everyone's ok, not had chance to read back properly but got to get on - Oh was off yesterday but instead of getting all the housework done I never seem to get anything done when he's at home! Mil is coming to stay for a couple of days tomorrow so got to get my act together.

  • Good morning ladies, hope everyone is well and those having poorly lo get better soon :( must be sad to see someone so little poorly when you want to be ill for them.

I've been reading Jo frosts baby book and she says from 4 weeks to get into a feeding routine, im struggling because my lo eats at different times everyday, one day it might be 8am the next it might 9am so it throws it off by an hour. Then at night it changes because he's sleeping 4-5 hours so again it changes from the day before. I'm guessing this is normal and eventually when he's not growing as fast it'll settle out more? Or am I doing something wrong? :)

MrsH2b : we didn't get into a rough feeding routine until he was about 9-10 weeks and started sleeping regularly so I wouldn't worry yet. Then you get days like today where he's already had 2 bottles (7.30 and 9.30) which is highly unusual!

Just put him down for a nap as normally he goes down at 8.30 ish but not having it today. He's currently gurgling to himself so I'm in the other room hoping he'll drift off :D

Another quick one (I am on with the housework, honest!).

Mrsh2b - we didn't have a routine for AGES, must have been going on 8-10 weeks if not longer. And then I just fell into his routine, I didn't try and feed him at set times or anything. If he was hungry, he got fed. It just worked out that he got hungry at roughly the same intervals each day (not set times, just length of times between feed and naps) and that meant I could organise myself a bit basing it on "he's just been fed so it'll be x hours til his next one". Obviously it wasn't 100%, but it gave me a rough idea.

  • Oh good that makes me feel better, im trying to read things but not take them to much to heart and just go with my baby but being first time mum it's hard to distinguish what you should and shouldn't take aboard.

My lo sounds very snotty today, he's trying to nap but his nose sounds blocked bless him.

My hair needs to be washed tonight for def, I'm looking like a scruff!

Nutella Ok, he's not long woken up, so I'm not sure with him sleeping so long if everything is ok. I've not offered food yet as I'm not sure what to give him. So basically I don't know :D He seems happy enough though.

Mrsh2b I seriously wouldn't worry we were all over the place at that age. The thing is people like Gina Ford and Jo Frost don't have kids, and even if they did, babies don't read the books, so what works for one baby, may not work for another. If you can get a baby app of some kind for your phone and just input everything he does, sleep, poop, feed, etc you will start to get a picture of what his routine is and be able to work around it, even if it's just like Katie says, wake, feed, 2 hours gap, nap etc. xx

Just booked a facial and massage for tomorrow (my day off) :j A really good place near me is doing a spring offer, so I get both for £40, which round here is nothing short of incredible! I'm very excited - haven't had a facial since LO was born and it shows! And my whole body is aching from carrying her around so much, so a massage is much needed too :D

Noah seems a bit better thanks to those who asked, he is sleeping at the moment so I've been catching up on the housework I've been neglecting. I've just finished cleaning the fish tank so going to have a quick cuppa before I put the clothes on the airer.

Katiechoc - glad you like your new restyle :D

Nutella - I'm jealous! Enjoy being pampered tomorrow. :)

    Hello :hello:

I didn't do routines as such, I've always let tiny ones sleep when they were tired and eat when they were hungry. They'll fall into one on their own soon enough.

Yay to haircuts and massages.... With any luck I can get my hair done next week (watch this space, there'll be a nits warning tonight now I've said that!) And got an eye test booked for Monday :j :j

    Hey Ladies,

Glad Noah is a little better Sammie.

Jealous of all this pampering, I love facials and massages as well, might have to get something booked. I'm getting my hair cut on Friday, having to take the monkey with me though so won't be a relaxing experience.

The conversations you have when you have a baby are so gross! My Mum just called me at work to say Poppy has done a huge, massive poo and the lump was that big you could see the outline through her leggings! Thanks for sharing that Mum!! :rotfl:
