Had some lovely tummy time today, excuse the dribble!
Need to ask some weaning tips as I like to buy one thing a week so it's not a huge cost to us when we need it.
I know ill need plastic spoons but what about pots / freezer trays. Is it worth getting special ones or just any old ones? I assume ill need a plastic bowl / plate for later.
What did everyone else do? I don't want to spend lots on specialist baby stuff if I don't need to!
(And yes that is a dogs nose, they love the little man!)0 -
going to be blw here so not buying any freezer things at all.0

Peanut he's adorable! What route are you going down in terms of weaning? Baby-led or purees? Will you be doing your own cooking or buying jars? You'll need a lot less things if you're doing baby-led XD0

I know very little about BLW and where to start! I know about introducing purees by starting with rice and slowly mixing other flavours in.
Do you have to start BLW later? Really don't know!0 -
Morocha and Peanut, what gorgeous babies you have
Its been a long evening trying to get the girls to bed. Having problems with wind as usual. Has anyone tried camomile tea for their lo's? Apparently, it helps them with wind according to granny
DDB, going back to the chocolate and BF thing, like I said it didn't make a difference to us. Mollie threw up everytime she moved so we put her on SMA staydown and it worked fantastically for 3months. Suddenly stopped working though now we're all covered in baby puke again!
That's reminded me of a question I wanted to ask.... the girls are now 24 weeks and are usually having 2 small meals a day. How much milk should they be having? I usually give them a bottle at 6am-ish (approx. 7oz), then breakfast is around 9.30, something like baby rice or porridge with pear or apple. Possibly a couple oz of milk when they wake up from their nap at 11 then they will have some food around 2pm like chicken dinner or liver casserole and they have their 8oz bottle ready for bed at 5 or 6pm. They also still wake through the night, Amelia only once and Mollie twice before the 6am feed
Does that sound normal?I've no idea how I will squeeze in 3 meals a day and milk as well as I've read they are still getting most of their calories from the milk not the food or have I picked that up wrong? TIA
I'm now on my 2nd period since I had the girls. Its a very heavy one, did anyone else find this? I'm hardly BF now, just the night feeds normally, so wasn't too surprised that they started up again but I've always been a very light 3 day girl and this is a heavy 4 day one so far. Sorry if TMI
Mollies new thing is sucking her bottom lip. A lot. So cute to watch though :rotfl:And Amelia grabs anything within her reach so have to be careful with her. Need to baby proof everything asap. I'm so cluttered though. She has been picking her bottles and dummy up and aiming for her mouth so also v cute to watch :rotfl:

My understanding of BLW is once they can start grabbing food and sticking it in their mouth then you start offering things that they can handle. Gum-able things first obviously... then moving on to other things. It's deffo the more appealing option over purees. I'm sure those who have done it can give you more advice and I will be taking notes XD0

Quick one - blw - this site is helpful, lots of good recipes. As someone else said, when they're sitting up and nabbing your dinner is a pretty good indication they're ready to start
