    Afternoon ladies!

We have the Ikea Antilop at my Dad's and it is really brilliant for the price. We have a Cosatto 3sixti in our place and I love it, but it's not cheap and very bulky.

It's Real Nappy Week :j so I've been treating my fluffy bum to some new nappies, would be rude not to with all the discounts floating around ;) Not sure my OH will see it like that.

I'm actually organised today, never happens. Been out to the shops, prepped dinner, done 2 loads of washing and we've both had lunch and the kitchen is cleared from that :j Just about to package up something I need to send my Dad and pop out to the post office. Enjoying my coffee now though while LO destroys his toy pirate ship!

We are hopefully going to book a little mini break tonight, so I'm very excited about that!

Glad sleep is improving for some. Sleep deprivation is hell. x

  • About the booster chair thing one thing to really check is where the babies feet will reach...

My nephew (1yr old) was in ours when he came to stay and he managed to put his feet up and push against the bottom edge of the table top.....the chair toppled backwards...luckily onto a beanbag so no damage! but it was a definite OMG I can't get across the room quick enough moment!

So just be careful and move it away from nearby pushoff points if leaving unattended

Hmmm didn't think about the cleaning side. Maybe an all plastic one would be better?

We have the ikea antilop too and I love it to bits, no fiddly creases to clean, or padded bits to wash. We did have a booster when he was first starting solids but as he got bigger it was looking less and less stable with him in it - he tends to rock around while he eats, specially if he's hungry (which is ALWAYS!) and I just didn't feel safe with him in it.

Gs just woken up after a 2.5 hour sleep - had a complete meltdown this morning, was convinced he'd wake up with about 7 new teeth. But nothing to show for it, although at least he's happy again. Demolishing his dinner now as its about 3 hours past when he normally would have had it.

We have this booster seat. Got it on Black Friday deals :)

It's plastic and really easy to wash apart from the straps which my LO loves chewing. Also, I find that the back rest is not high enough and my LO would bang his head on the back of the chair. But then we attached a seat cushion to the back of the chair and problem solved :)

The good thing is the size - didn't want to buy a proper high chair to take up space. Also, when we're going to my MIL we just take the booster seat with us so she didn't have to buy a high chair either.

My LO will be 9mths next week and is still in his booster seat. Our kitchen chairs are quite heavy and don't move when he's leaning over to the side but I suppose with lighter chairs it would be a problem.

    argh computer ate my reply.
I liked Rita Conway - baby led and purees your way.
Antilop is good. We were given a fisher price. Will use bumbo at first. sorry for twitter style sentences must dash.
  • marta - I would go back to the docs if you don't feel happy but I didn't have a natural delivery I don't know if its normal to feel like that. We have had one grumpy baby here since her 16 week injections, I am exhausted. Every time we put her down she cries! Proper bottom lip wobble and everything! Hope your little'un is doing OK after them.

    Nutella - Clever baby!!!! :D

We still aren't doing brilliantly with night sleeps - anyone found the light mornings waking up the babies more? I am really considering a pop up black out blind 'cos we are exhausted with the early mornings plus 2-3 night wakings.

Can anyone recommend a good travel cot which doubles as a play pen?

By the way all the baby pictures are GORGEOUS!!! All of the babies are just adorable!
  • My LO slept in the car on the way to the hospital and I fed her in the car before going in. She fell asleep in the sling until just before we were called in and screamed her head off pretty much the whole time they were doing the test which took ages because she kept dislodging the ear piece. She then fell asleep again before I left the building and slept for the whole of a twenty mile car journey. But they were still able to do the test and they were fine about it as they understand that babies don't always do what you plan on them doing. It's not that they *have* to be asleep for them to be able to do it - it's more that it's easier if they're asleep because then they stay still.

Thanks for the reply, what were the results for your lo? At the screening his left ear didn't give a clear response so we've been referred

Ladies for anybody looking for a really compact seat for babies the Phil and Teds Lobster is really good. It is similar to the Cosatto 360 except it doesn't rotate and is far smaller. The seat unit comes off and is easy to wash. The label says hand wash but ours has been through the washing machine more times than I could count. Added bonus is that it collapses along with its plastic feeding tray into a tiny tote bag that takes up hardly any space in the pushchair basket. :D

Edited to add I only mentioned this one as it was most favoured by the team who dealt with my daughters food refusal for integrating baby into family meal times.

I actually stopped by on this thread to say a very belated but big thank you to Janninew as she mentioned the Nuk brand a while ago and their transition cup was the only thing my daughter would tolerate drinking from when trying to wean her off of bottles. Thank you Jannine they were previously a brand I had never even considered and had spent a fortune on all of the mainstream ones with no success.

Thanks for that koala, I'll look into that seat, space is a huge issue here.

Moneypenny, we have blackout blinds from easyblackoutblinds, they come with Velcro that you put around the frame of your window, then the cloth just sticks to it. They are expensive, though, you can probably make your own cheaper or buy roll out blackout curtains from homebase and similar for less. We tried that but we have a garden door and it would not open, so I have two rollout curtains now new in box that I cannot use! If you can pick up, they are yours, cream colour. It makes a different most days, she was waking up at 6am and now is back at 7:30 - 8:30 am.

We have a Graco Travel cot, very easy to fold, like an umbrella.

I think I'll make an appointment just in case. It's probably nothing, but just in case, I want to start trying for a second one in a few months and I want to make sure everything is ok down there.
