How old is he, and is he gaining weight? Does he seem happy and healthy? We stopped waking up our LO at night when she was about 2 weeks old - I asked the HV, who confirmed that because she was gaining weight just fine, there was no need to worry. So unless you have concerns about his weight, or he seems unwell in any way, then I would just enjoy a bit of extra sleep
He will let you know if he's hungry - as they get older, their tummies can hold more milk, so they do start to go longer between feeds (until they hit a growth spurt that is - then it's all systems go for a bit before things calm down again!). You'll probably find frequency and quantity changing quite regularly - just as you think you've cracked it and you have a routine, he'll demand something different. They do like to keep us on our toes and make sure we know who's in charge!
Thank you for replying, he's 4 weeks. He seems absolutely normal and is feeding 150ml now every 4hrs so it's getting easier. It just worried me that he had slept for so long but he screams the house down when he's hungry so if he's slept and not screamed then obviously isn't hungry so maybe I should relax! nd enjoy the sleep lolNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Thanks for the replies about feeding.
OH went back to work today, he does really long hours & I have felt really overwhelmed being on my own. Connor has been very unsettled aswell which has made it even harder. He's only slept in his pram for 45 minutes! Sorry just felt like I needed to vent a little. Reading your posts does give me hope that it gets easier though.0 -
SpiderWestCider I'm sorry that you had a hard day. I understand how it might be !!!! difficult to believe but it does get easier. There'll still be hard days but it will be better I swear. Try to just go with the flow, don't worry about housework/chores, get in plenty of snacks (for times when even just making a sandwich is impossible!) and try to get out of the house at least once a day. If you can find a fb group for your areas you'll be surprised how often they meet and how much fun it can be.0

Hello all
To who of you mentioned leaving LO I will do it, with my mum and only my mum. (Well and OH, lol).
The thought of leaving him with anyone else (well probably not my dad) fills me with TERROR! Lol. No idea why either!
We've had a good day. He slept till 7.15 this morning (from 11.30) and went out like a light at 7.15 tonight
And we got our first giggle this morning! Well daddy did, he got the first smile too. Grrrrr. Lol0 -

I abstained from chocolate for 3 or 4 weeks when BF cos I was told by hv that it can cause babies to be sick. Didn't make the slightest difference. Introduced a tiny bit at a time and still no difference so stuffed my face :rotfl:
To those talking about teething I am absolutely dreading it. I've no idea how I will be able to deal with 2 babies screaming in pain at the same time. I honestly don't know how I will cope. I've had a couple of nights where Mollie has been in discomfort with a bad cold and wouldn't let me put her down without screaming and I was praying Amelia wouldn't wake up wanting feeding
As for leaving them with people, I have never thought twice about it tbh. Yes I miss them when they're not with me, but I have left them with grandparents and my brother numerous times. I think the 1st time I left them with grandparents they were around 16 weeks if not younger.
We got their highchairs delivered today. Im so impressed with them. They were only 27.99 at kiddicare and can be used as toddler chairs later. Will definitely get our moneys worth from them :T. They looked so grown up sat in them
Hope everyone's ok and has a good night sleep:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

Just worked out how to change the cookie settings on my phone so can now log in and post rather than having to be on the computer:j
cake I wouldn't worry too much about teething, apart from one night with my first DD we never had any sleep issues, dribbling sore bottom or anything and she cut her first two together at 15 weeks, so no holding of teething rings or anything , so the way I look at it, with 2 you might click lucky that one does and one doesn'twell hopefully

Well my lo is having a feed now and his last was at half 8 last night. He went to sleep at 11 like the two nights before so I'm guessing he's starting to make a routine for now, hv is weighing him on Thursday so I've told oh I will allow this to continue until then and then see if he's put on weight. If he has I'll go with the flow, if not I'll wake him every 4 hrs!
We have only left lo with his mum to go shopping, my oh has been out on a lads night, I wouldn't dream of going out yet, my oh gets stressed if he's left with lo more than an hour, they haven't fully bonded as of yet, the thought of someone else feeding changing and cuddling my lo makes me really jealous, I know I'll regret not being laid back about it but he's my first so I think that's why!!Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! with teeth, I think as said above sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're not. We have signs of two bottom incisors coming through here, there are little bumps, he went through a patch of drooling like a mad thing a few weeks back (drool just falling out of mouth) and he will happily chomp on fingers / Sophie. No temperature though and none of the screaming / whatever. Well, I say no temperature I've never actually taken his temperature anyway. And of course the worst bit is probably when he actually cuts a tooth, which thankfully for my nipples hasn't happened yet.0
