Sammie, well done on your weight loss! I have my Weight Watchers meeting tonight but I don't think I've done very well. Not followed the plan at all this week and as I've been feeling poorly since the weekend I'm afraid I've comfort eaten (huge chunks of tiger loaf covered in butter - naughty, naughty).

Managed to get some C&G milk in our local Tesco Express this morning so that's a relief.

I'm sick to death of dealing with explosive nappies here. Every single time I end up having to change his whole outfit which is bad enough when we're at home but a bloomin nightmare when we're out. I've tried every brand of nappy in various sizes and he manages to shoot it out the legs or back or both of all of them. Is that normal? I do wonder whether I'm overfeeding him and that's making him do massive poos. Perhaps it will settle down a bit now that we're weaning?

Elelyn, we used to have loads of explosive nappies before weaning, and it's definitely settled down since thank goodness!!

Thanks hun. It is hard at times isn't it? A few people have said my face looks thinner (I want my bl@@dy belly to look thinner but hey ho!)
The weight watchers food is really nice and I'm quite enjoying counting how many pro points everything is do I don't exceed my maximum allowance for the day. :D
    Good luck for tonight.

  • Has anyone else decided that one child is enough? Was just wondering. I think our son will be our only child for several reasons: money, the stress and difficulty we had conceiving him, and dare I say not wanting to go through this again (although I accept that 5 weeks in I am in no position to make any firm/rational decisions). But I am also worried that being an only child will mean our son misses out some how. What do others think?

Put a pound back on - aaarrgh!

We think Theo will probably be an only child. I don't think we could afford another and I'm not sure I could go through the stress of the first 3 months again (not to mention another pregnancy as I had Spd last time). Plus, I'm 34 & DH is 43 so we're getting on a bit. I think there are benefits to only having one. Mind you, you never know I may change my mind in a year or so...

I was an only child but I had a few cousins of similar age, so it was good. I'm 35 next month and I'd like another one. I'm not using any contraception, whenever it comes, it comes. Most of my cousins are only childs too. I don't feel like I missed out and unfortunately for me I was not spoilt due to financial reasons. I didn't have a great labour, but I had a good pregnancy (no sickness, no cravings, only hip problems at the end) and I think I can work on doing the relaxation techniques better and try again for a water birth. I was very worried when I first had her because I felt no bond and in fact I felt a bit detached from the whole situation, but within weeks everything has changed so much that I ache with sudden love when I stare at her.

Aaah, marta that's lovely. I know what you mean about feeling detached at the start. It's just so hard and comes as such a shock when it's your first as you don't know what to expect. I definitely felt that the bond took time to develop. I wonder if it's different second time around?

My brother got married in September and he and his wife really want to have children so Theo will hopefully have some cousins a bit closer to his age. His cousins on DH's side are a 13 year old girl and the two boys are in their twenties! I don't have any cousins and just the one brother who is two years younger than me. We fought like cat and dog and there were plenty of times when I was younger that I wished I was an only child! Of course I love him really though.

I would love another baby and I already have 3 :D
My OH's friend thinks its ridiculous that I want another one, he doesn't have to live with me and my kids or pay for them so I don't give a toss what he thinks is 'right' :p

I think if you want 1 or 100 kids its up to the individual.

I suffered with SPD throughout my last 2 pregnancies and I still get the grinding and shooting pains now. I remember many days thinking my pelvis was going to fall apart on the school run. :(

1lb isn't bad going. I think I am on the limit of my points today and DP is talking about getting a take away later, in trying to stay strong!!
