Ok ladies please tell me I'm being stupid :( I have a first hour of baby massage with my little girl who's 5 months today but I'm worried she will get hungry half way through and then think is there much point going if i go there and she just feeds. I'm trying to get out with her more but her feeds are so irractic it puts me off :( and she feeds for half hour when she does, it will take half hour to get to the place it's held, maybe I should cancel? I just worry so much it gets me down :(

Go go go Toni, youl only keep putting it off if you don't. Do you have any of the baby apps on your phone? They allow you to input nappy changes, feeds, lengths of feeds, naps etc if you done that for a few days, you may start to see a pattern emerging that you don't think is there :o

If she needs to feed at least youre still out talking and meeting people xx

    Agree with Gilly, GO!! :D

I was scared to take Noah out incase he screamed or needed feeding whilst walking up the school/shopping/baby groups etc but as we started to get out more he definitely fell into a routine. I remember days when he would fall asleep before baby group and sleep all the way through! It got me out of the house so I didn't care! Just remember everyone will be feeling the same as you.

  • Well - we opened a whole can of worms with MIL... since I hit the 33 week mark tomorrow - during the weekly Skype torment she made about 5-6 digs and implications that I had done something to cause Erin's premature birth - snirking as she told me how the utter SPD agony I'm in now (I can lift a foot about 1cm off the floor it's that bad) will "at least force you to rest so you don't go into labour early again." Loads of smirks about how "ooooh we don't want to have to come to see you for at LEAST another month" (funny cos I don't want you to come and see us at all really) on and on and on. Hubby as usual refuses to hear any of it going on or back me up - but the last thing in the world she's doing is coming in, taking over Erin (because she won't listen to any of the routines we have in place and will just ignore every single word I say) and playing the hero when she's put naff all actual time into that little girl and gives her mum the crap she does.

Now, I knew she had issues - she refuses to have any photos up prior to the NG tube being removed, and she'll start blethering on about next door's curtains full blast or similar if I try to moderate her demands that "she should be crawling by now" with a reminder that you need to adjust her age backwards for when she should have been born - plus the utter hysterics in the hospital etc... she wants to completely obliterate the prematurity from her stupid world view - but yep, it sounds like her and SIL have been having some wonderfully cosy chats about how we can blame and accuse me of causing or asking for the prem birth (everything I say or do is run back to the other one of that pair and analysed anyway).

Funny - since the doctors and people with like years of medical experience haven't managed to explain why it happened but some random biddy's got it all worked out.

Annoying thing is - my SPD is killer (like I say - I can lift my feet about 1cm off the floor and manage about 5 steps before I'm biting my lip not to scream in pain) and I could really use the help right now - my mum can't because it's council budget time and she's on the local council... but I don't want MIL near me after the stuff she's said this weekend - she literally makes my skin crawl.

    Hi Nutella *waves*

Toni - go! If you worry about when you'll have to feed/change/nap all the time then you'll never go anywhere. You'll probably find you won't have feed as often when you're out :)

I've placed an order of formula powder for a month because I will use it anyway and I do not want to have supply problems. I usually buy 2 packs, but I went for 5 this time. I have used a £20 off a £80 first shop at Ocado, valid until 31/03/2013 VOU7312512 . I got: 5 tubs of formula, 4 little cartons, a bandana bib, soother/teats sterilizing wipes, giant cotton pads, 2 MAM perfect soothers for different stages, 4 cravendale milk for us and a great discovery: already sterilized disposable 240ml bottles!! I will never be caught up again outside the house without a sterilized bottle. Each pack has 4, and you can get now 3 packs for under £6, so 12 disposable bottles. It makes any day out easier with the cartons. Or even at home, when she wakes up from her nap a bit earlier than usual and the bottles are either still in the sterilizer or still to be washed or it's 3am and I haven't got more left. It's made my day! Lol Anyway, all that was £60 with the voucher, which is the price of our milk and her formula put together, so I got the rest effectively free :D Now to Morrisons to buy meat with my £10 off £35 for this week!

I can recommend Baby Connect, there is a 3 day trial for free, but it's only around £2 to buy anyway. I love the graph stats, very easy to use and customizable. Spend a bit of time customizing it to your needs, delete labels/categories you do not need, add those you need, sort out the main screen... then it will be easy peasy, just a click here and there, done. It has made my life easier because I found her patterns: eats every 2h during the day, needs sleep after 1h 30min away, I keep track of doses with the message [notes] option, how many dirty nappies she's done, etc. Another similar one is iBaby, but I think it does not give you stats/graphs, I love the fact I can see at a glance how much she's eaten today compared to previous days or how much sleep she has had, if there is a subtle increase in the pattern, etc. For example, up to a week ago she was having 22oz a day, since then she's getting around the 27oz, so she is eating an extra bottle all of a sudden, so I have increased the bottles from 4oz to 5oz.

Hi Guys, i'm not techinically a newbie as I did graduate for the original baby board, but as you can imagine its been challenging with two, but i guess its about time i added myself to this.
Hope you ladies are all ok and the little ones are doing well.

I had twins back in April but i'm back at work now. We are going on holiday once the twins turn 1 and I seriously need some help planning it to make sure its not too stressful for all of us.
Really need any tips where possible. I've been told to order stuff for delivery at boots airside. Any other similar tips? What do you put them in if you are lounging by the pool? i've been told to get a sun shield? I'm desperately trying not to break the bank and would love to do this as MSE as possible.

Sorry to come in and be asking for help already :o

Teats - Charlie is one and still on size 2. We've never used size 3. He's been on size 2 now for absolutely ages!

Diet - I lost 2 stone in 2010 on WW. Just stuck to their meals for dinner, and for breakfast I had 2 weetbix with a banana, and for lunch I had a tomato, lettuce and cucumber pitta, sometimes I added ham, but that was extra points. So usually just piled in the veg. Sugar free jelly if i had a sweet tooth, and for a drink, I had vodka and diet lemon and lime. I cut out bread altogether which is my downfall!!
Could get a little boring, but I lost loads of weight for my holiday back home :D
