Re. bottle teats - we've somehow never got round to changing them (or poking another hole with a needle) and she's had the same ones since birth. Do we actually need to change them - what would be the advantage of doing it?0

Same here, I did try faster flow teats but he looked like he was drowning himself then screamed. He wouldn't drink from it after that. I've also tried different bottles but again he didn't like the different teat. We have just stuck with the same teats as always now to keep him happy. I think he may have issues!!

R.e the teats all babies are different, some have a quicker suck than others so if they're sucking with size 1's and they're not getting the milk fast enough they get frustrated and windy. If you have no issues I'd just stick with what you are using
R.e the leaky nappies, definitely move from newborn to bigger nappies. Even if they are the same size, as I found we had leaks then xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
What are you giving A his milk in now Gilly? Do you use a beaker or bottle? I'm still trying to get Noah to use a beaker but still not getting anywhere. I went out with just a beaker last week and he just constantly screamed

Thanks Sammie and Gilly - I think we might as well stick to the teats we're using then; she seems happy with them and we have no issues with feeding.
I agree with Gilly re. nappies - newborn nappies are only good for the first 3-4 weeks; as soon as your baby is within the range for size 1, change to those. Far fewer leaks. We also found Pampers Baby-Dry much better than Pampers Active Fit, but I know Fluff swears by the latter, so I think it's all to do with body shape etc.
Sammie, I'm liking your new avatar! Oh, and well done on your weight loss! How much are you hoping to lose? I've lost 2.6kg in two weeks on Diet Chef, which I'm pleased with - want to lose another 5-7kg.

Morning ladies
I'm undecided on baby number 2. I think I'd like one, but definitely not for a bit. I'd like G to be old enough so I could get away with a buggy board for him rather than a double buggy, ideally he'd be at school too so I could spend some time just me and bubs. OH isn't convinced number two would be a good thing at all though...
We're going home today, George and I have been away for a week now so will be nice to be back in our own space.Newborn thread member

He only has one bottle a day now at bedtime so I just give it in a bottle. Any milk he has during the day is in a beaker, he's not keen but it's just toughhe gets offered snacks throughout the day and I always leave water out for him, so I offer him the milk if he doesn't want it well that's that
I find the days he doesn't eat as much he will take the beaker if he's hungry. He will take it from an open cup though so if I help him he's happy to do that.
R.e another baby, we definitely want another one, my OH is one of 4, so he is very keen. He wants more than 2 but we'l seewe are relatively young so have a lot of baby making time in front of us hopefully but I'd like to have them close together. Ideally I'd like to go back to work soon-ish which is why I'd prefer the smaller gap as Id prefer to be at home for them until nursery.

My lo is 10 weeks, 5.1kg / 11lb, and we use one baby dry size 3 at night, and active fit 3 during the day. In the evening I might put a newborn 3 because I still have a few and want to use them up, and she only poos in the morning/afternoon, so I know it's not much of a risk! Something I found helped with leaking nappies was to open the sides completely before putting them on, the ruffles around the legs, I make sure they are all detached from the nappy.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
