She's still asleep! It's been two and a half hours!0

Oh wow nutella that is a good sleep, she must be worn out after shoe shopping.
We've just been for a walk and Noah fell asleep in his trike, came home and ds1 was sick everywhere. He looks pale and says he has a headache so I'm hoping its not a bug. He usually just battles on through when he is poorly so I know he must be feeling pretty bad. I've sent him to lie down in his bedroom with the curtains drawn and a bowl in case he doesn't make it to the toilet in time!

Oh no Sammie, hope your poor boy feels better soon - and that he doesn't share the germs with the rest of you x0

Wow morocha, how have you done it? I know it's my fault, but little miss cannot / won't fall asleep unless there's some rocking involved, except at night, when she can fall asleep with the dummy or a feed. I want to change the habit before she gets too settled in it, but not sure how to approach it. My gentle sleep training seems to be very slow in changing anything. All I managed so far was to put her down half asleep, instead of deep asleep.
I want another one, and s/he can come whenever s/he's ready
I hope your DS1 feels better soon, at least it's weekend and he can just rest.
LO seems to be better, she had two very runny nappies and a bit of reflux, but I think she's better now, let's see! It's me who is under the weather today, so I'll crawl under a blanket in a minute.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Hi all. My 11 week old son has been really fighting day time naps the last few days. He has been sleeping really well at night. Goes down at about 7pm and doesn't wake until about 5am for a bottle then back to sleep for an hour or two usually. Which I feel very lucky about. But when he seems sleepy (usually after a bottle or after being awake about 2 hours) he will either fight sleep and get really upset or wake up 10 mins after I put him in his crib. Any advice would be great! He has naps in the living room and we try to keep things fairly quiet but not too quiet. At night I have just started putting him to bed in our room in his crib and leaving him for an hour or two before I come to bed. I know this goes against advice and I am nervous about doing it but he will really does not sleep well in the living room and it meant me going upstairs with him each night otherwise. Has anyone else had experience of putting a baby to bed on their own for a few hours at 11weeks or should I really not be doing this? Obviously we have a monitor and I regularly check on him and am there immediately if he stirs but it is something I am wondering if I should do. I know the official advice is not to.0

I put my lo in her cotbed, which is in our room, both for naps and bedtime. We now have a monitor, but we did it without a monitor for a couple of weeks. We live in a flat and our bedroom is next door the living room.
You could try putting your lo to sleep way before showing tiredness, like instead of after 2h, try at 1h 30 min, or 1h. Mine struggles to sleep on her own, but I know she needs a nap within 60-90 min from waking up.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

We put LO to sleep on her own (with a monitor) for naps and in the evenings from around six weeks. For some reason she seemed to sleep better in the bedroom, I don't know if it's because it was quieter or darker or whether she simply started associating that room with sleep, but it worked for us. I think you have to do what works for you and our baby - as long as you're able to hear them as soon as they stir, personally I wouldn't worry too much. Is there anything you do in the evenings that you could replicate for nap time, e.g. a song that you sing or a musical toy that you switch on? Some kind of 'sleep time signal' might be worth trying if you haven't already. Hopefull he'll grow out of it soon though0
