Is George walking now?
Congratulations 2ba3c.

Yep he is just about now. I think he's probably 50/50 between crawling and walking - he can't get from sitting to standing without holding on to something though. So if he falls over in the middle of the room he's scuppered! Could probably have waited for shoes tbh but if we go to the park or something it'd be nice for him to toddle about outside. Plus baby shoes are the cutest things ever. Fact
He's snoozing - washing up done, chicken marinating for tea, Netflix on, cuppa in hand and toasted muffin gobbled. Happy mummyNewborn thread member

Fluff you did a sad face at Freddie's preference for sweet things - nothing you can do about that, it's nature! Look on iplayer for Horizons, they did a taste one less than a week ago which explains our instincts around food and tastes - very interesting!
'naughty' treats are also better tooth-wise straight after a meal - so all the extra saliva and on happens in one sitting rather than later, or something like that anyway.
I have had a bagel for the first time today, they are delicious!!!! How have I got to 27 years old and not discovered this before!!!!0 -
Babies! She's got a box full of toys, and what is she playing with? A wooden peg and a box of lasagne sheets!0

Hello ladies, my lo went for his hearing test today and failed on his left ear, we've been referred and I am worried, I know it doesn't mean he's got hearing loss but I hate that we will get an appointment within the next 4 weeks and Im not going to know until then whether he can hear me
Has this happened to anyone else?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Back up to (and past) birth weight - 7lb 3oz today - unfortunately discharged from lovely midwife and into dippy (ok but frustrating and never follows up on anything she's promised) health visitor-dom... her other annoying feature is her lack of appreciation that people actually have other things to do with their lives than wait for her to need something doing or attending - she was most irrate I hadn't answered my mobile or returned her call yesterday... would have helped if she'd left a contact number (I have it - but in Erin's red book and we were out of the house)!
Means I can relax a bit more about Robyn's feeds at least - think if I wasn't setting alarms for 3 hours there's at least one stint during the night she'd go for 4 in.
As for sweet things - Erin likes them - she's had the odd tiny bit of chocolate... I don't want to make it forbidden so it's something she goes nuts with when she gets the chance to - considering the amount of fruit and veg she eats and adores I'm not unduly worried by her having the odd tiny biscuit or chocolate button - I'd rather she learnt to handle them in moderation than the bingeing I tend to do given half the chance.
Had my mum staying this week since hubby's boss lied to him about holiday after his paternity being OK and then revoked that and I was bricking it about having the two of them on my own during the day... it's actually been relatively do-able although there's no spare time in the day for me to find to have a wee or anything - as long as I keep Robyn's feeds to fit around times I know Erin's occupied and relatively calm, then Robyn's generally napping so I can spend time with Erin and do her feeds... even have had them napping together twice today! OK so I seem to spend 90% of my time changing nappies... was daft enough to do the 3 mile round trip to the Children's Centre walking yesterday and found that tough going - the combination of having been housebound for a good couple of months and having only given birth a fortnight ago (I'd forgot!) made the trip back up the big hill hellish to do - but we did... yes, everyone thinks I'm bonkers having the two of 'em out and about so soon!
Got the appointment for Robyn's hip clinic today - was looking at it thinking I'm sure I'm doing something on that date... finally dawned on me - it's her due date - because of her size I forget she's actually still a preemie! They warn you of a 2-3 hour possible delay though... our appointment's after 4pm... eek! (Also at the hospital which triggers flashbacks in me - and in the same area of the hospital as the maternity services all are - I'm not likely to find it easy)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Mrsh Reuben didn't fail his, but he did have some very strong medication for the first 10 days of his life which can cause hearing damage, and it isn't always straight away. Theyve told me he'll have extra hearing tests until he's 8. Its impossible not to, but try not to worry, I'm sure everything will be fine ((hugs)) ....and hearing loss on one side isn't the end of the world, there is so much they can do nowadays, 'hidden' hearing aids and so on xxx0

I wouldn't worry Mrsh2b. When they're so small it's quite likely that they can get distracted and things.
Hey Aida. I'm good thanks darling. Good to hear that things are well your end0 -
Two opportunities to spend your hard-earned cash: baby event at Tesco until 21st April and flash sale at Babies R Us until Sunday. I haven't looked into either, but if anyone needs anything that either of those two places sell, then it might be worth having a peek0

Marta, how is your little lady doing? Hope she's a happier baby today x0

Yum yum, I could eat bagels all day every day given half the chance! And now you'll have to do just that in order to catch up on 27 bagel-less years0
