We've never had a monitor. It depends on the size of your house I guess but I can hear Freddie easily. You might not be able to hear all the little snuffles and snorts but, to my mind, that just makes you jumpy anyway and more likely to rush into their room when they're perfectly happy.

Freddie started sleeping in his cot (in our room) from about 7pm at about six weeks onwards. We'd check on him periodically until we went up ourselves. I've not missed having a monitor at all - knowing me, it would just make me neurotic :D

    Wanted to add...

Peanut, if your LO is anything like Freddie, he'll sleep like he's dead for a few hours (that's made my heart stop a few times, I can tell you) then wake up and immediately start bawling. There are no special moments in between for the monitor to capture and treasure :D

Peanut - we don't have a monitor either (well have a basic 2nd hand one for when we're away) as our flat is pretty tiny. Like fluff said - I hear him if he needs me but otherwise he's quite happy snoozing away on his own. We've actually just got home from the in laws where we use the monitor as their house is bigger and it was a pain hearing every snuffle and rustle waking us up all night long.

Yay to standing up sammie! He'll be off and running soon :T. I heard the Southampton kiddicare is opening this month, I'm very tempted to make a trip down for opening day as they seem to have a load of giveaways...gotta love a giveaway ;)

George is walking loads now, still crawls a lot but I think a trip to Clarks is on the cards pretty soon :D

We get a nice 4am concert of her singing whatever words she's got to string together - so combinations of mama dada nanna 'nana (banana) cat no and 'es (yes)... it's very entertaining and goes on for 10 minutes before she falls back asleep.

Oh and Kiddicare openings - we got a big canvas bag with a mug, crayons, babywipes, cotton ear buds in when they opened the Nottingham store. They did do some 10% and 5% off big spend vouchers - so it's when we bought the double buggy to get the discount on it.

Off to bed in a second - let's see how many MORE sheets and babygros Robyn can sick on today - we're onto number 3 - never massive amounts but always just enough to need a change of bedding and clothing.

Have read back a bit more now - congrats on selling your house sunshine! Found anywhere you like yet?

Nutella - how much does your LO eat in a normal day? Apologies if I missed a post. Curious as George is a really greedy bogger sometimes- 3 weetabix and banana for brekkie, half my omelette plus toast, yoghurt, bit of fruit for dinner, couple of meatballs anda few bits of pasta for tea plus yoghurt/pud and fruit for tea. Plus at least one if not two snacks. He doesn't have much milk any more though.

OH just went in to check on the small one - bedtime was a bit of a rush as G threw a tired strop so I didn't tidy up properly - he managed to kick the vtech under the sea spinning top which started singing at full tilt. Not even a twitch! That's the last time I worry about making too much noise while he's sleeping!

We've put him down upstairs on his own tonight for the first time and I feel lost without him! Lol. So weird being home and not having him buy one of our sides! Lol.

Clocks have mucked him up. He always goes down at 7pm nearly on the dot, tonight kicked right off until 8pm... Lol.

I drove past there yesterday (it's about 10 mins drive from my house) and saw the outside is complete :D but wasn't sure when it was opening, can't wait to have a nose around there! I didn't realise they had giveaways, I will definitely be going.

Dizzi - yay for weight gain!

I remember LO losing for the first 2 weeks and me being scared senseless.

Off to research baby apps as both smart phone users!

By the way, why no cute easter pics?

He will kill me in a few years but I couldn't resist!!
