I love moments like this! Every now and then I get moments where I think how bloody happy I am and how bloody bloody happy I am0 -
Thanks for the comments, I probably should not believe everything that I read as "the norm "! I don't know what's wrong with her, she's been grumpy, clingy, crying, moaning and finally high pitch screaming at the end of the day. I'm assuming something is going on because she's usually a happy smiley baby and she calmed down about 15-20min after the calpol, which I gave her at 4pm and 8pm. Just in case it's early teething, I've stocked up on teething rings, bonjela and nurofen. It might just be a headache, though, we have disrupted her routine and have been doing lots of diy around the house, plus the new stuff, like new cotbed or new pram, etc. I wish I could read that little mind of hers and figure out the problem! She hasn't eaten enough yesterday or today (according to guidelines), she should be around 24-40oz a day and she barely made the 20 oz
Fluff, that is the best feeling ever. I often look at her and think how beautiful it is being a mum to this little baby and how great it is to feel a "family". I love cooking too
Dizzi, it makes sense to use it as indicator of day / night. We use sleeping bags here, so we take the sleepsuit out when it's bedtime.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Morning ladies
Hope everyone had a good night - ours was pretty good, she slept from 7pm until 6am with only half an hour of awake-time in the middle of the night!
Sunshine, nice to see you - I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering how you were getting on. Yay for walking and house sale! :jHave you found somewhere you want to buy yet? But boo to MMR - I'm dreading that, I thought it was only one injection! Happy shoe shopping
Have a good day all x0 -

Never believe everything you read lol , Read it by all means but take the advice that works for you and your baby , each one is different in their own way x Samuel only ever had 4/5 ounces at a feed and the most he ever drank in a day was around 18 oz he is 18 months and within all guidelines Hun. Is it starting in the eveing maybe it's a bit of colic ?now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
Try a warm bath to ease it , feed upright to prevent them swallowing to much air, tummy massage x if it is colic it does pass but have a Read up of the symptoms and see what you think xnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

Marta, when it comes to naps (as with so many other things!), don't believe everything a book says. Some babies do eventually sleep for 2 or 3 hours in one go (mine did every afternoon for several months, so every activity and appointment had to happen in the mornings), but many don't. Some prefer more frequent and shorter naps. As for the set time, I don't believe in that either - you'll probably find some sort of rough pattern that you could aim to stick to, but I honestly don't believe you can get a baby to nap to a schedule
I think what matters is that she sleeps when she's tired.
My LO hated the moses basket and started sleeping better once we moved her to the cot at around 12 weeks. I think it was also around that time that we started being able to put her down sleepy but awake, but it still took a fair amount of singing, patting her head etc. for a while. I found that holding onto her for a while (whilst she was lying in her cot) also helped - then I'd slowly and gradually move away. Ewan also worked - she started associating it with sleep time and would start yawning as soon as she heard it!
I've found the moses basket much better this time around - we've gone from a Mothercare borrowed one which was really unsupportive, to an el-cheapo Kiddicare one which seems much firmer in terms of the base of it not sagging etc - and it's about 100 times better (and half the flipping price!). Have the cot attached to the bed upstairs to co-sleep, which works as well since she's harder to settle on a night but will settle if she can be right up next to me.
Hopefully her weight's going to have started to go up since she's upped the amount of feed she's taking slightly at each feed (she's almost taking a full 3oz on some of them now if you time it just right).
As for naps - Erin's never ever been a good napper (awesome night sleeper so I'll take it!) - will fight a morning nap tooth and nail even when she needs it - I get one nap a day which can be anything from 30 minutes (less if the effing phone rings which it has an uncanny knack of doing) to 2 1/2 hours and is incredibly unpredictable! But like I say - I'll take the lack of downtime during the day if she's sleeping well at night!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
