What would you have as a tatoo and why?

I have 3 one on each arm and one on my back, all to do with african animals as i really love them to be free to roam (like me one day lol).
Elephants are a big fav of mine
The one on my photo is on my back0 -
I (like a lot of men) hate them on women, unless they are in the Navy or something.
Sorry but having your kids names on you? personally I can remember their names without having a 'hint sheet' poked under my skin and why would anyone else be interested in seeing my broods names?
I suppose it might be useful when your old and totally senile and go walk about from your care home starkers at 2am, will help the social worker know who to call to fetch you :rotfl:
To me the rise in popularity of tattoos is just another indicator that our society is slipping backwards towards cave man. 'Ugg! me of little Unicorn tribe'
That said I respect every ones freedom to do what ever they like with their body, just don't be surprised I don't fancy you!

I have 8 tattoos, and I love it when I'm talking to someone and they say how much they hate tats and all women who get them are cheap and chavvy (I wear a lot of smart stuff and am always well groomed). Their reaction when they spot one of mine is great.
I have a rose and a tribal symbol on my lower belly, near my hipbones. They have no significance other than I like them.
I have the Kanjis for Peace and Love on my shoulderblades. They were done after a significant life event.
I have the Kanji for Teacher near the tribal symbol on my stomach to commemorate my dance squad's first gold medal - I told them I'd do it before we went to the competition, haha!
I have the icon faces of KISS down the middle of my back. I have adored them since I was 12 and I had it done after I saw them live.
I have vines and stars curling up around the sides of my upper back - each star symbolises a member of my friends or family who are no longer with us.
And I have two entwined fuschias at the bottom of my back - their leaves form a heart - to symbolise me, my mum and my dad. Tattooed around that is the quote "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". This is my dad's memorial piece, and suits him down to the ground.
The old saying still rings true, sadly - "What's the difference between non-tattooed people and tattooed people? Tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed."
And as for hating them when I'm old? Yeah...like I'm gonna hate things that remind me of my youth. I chose them because I want them to be permanent.

I have a lyric from a song called Juliet by Army Of Freshmen across my back it reads "I'm working on my battle plan and wishing on a star" It has a treble clef a shooting star and smaller straight line stars in bright happy colours. The words really struck a cord with me when I heard them as that is the sort of thing I do. I plan things in detail but in the background I'm praying it will pan out as I have hardly any faith in myself.

I have 3 and love them all. Was planning my 4th until I fell pregnant so that's on the backburner now!
I have a chain of 10 clovers 'round my right wrist (one for each of my 10 cousins - I now have 11 but can't get another added due to the aforementioned pregnancy!), an ivy vine 'round my ankle and onto my foot - no particular reason, it just makes my foot look nice and a quote in Gaelic at the top of my leg which, to be honest, looks a bit !!!! but I like it

Nowadays, I REALLY like full sleeve tatoos, or whole back designs. I like those better than the titchy crappy ones in odd places. At least they show commitment! lol
Me too, I always thought I hated tattoos but it's actually only tiddly ones that I hate, they seem all out of proportion in relation to area of skin, like putting an A4 pic on a big wall instead of a huge painting that fits the scale of the room.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I love my tattoos
I am 40.
I had a wolf on my shoulder/back when I was 21 and a wizard and castle on the other side about a year later. About a year after that I had a small purple flower on the inside of my leg just about the ankle. I love wolves. I like fantasy art and the wizard and castle went well with the wolf. Purple is my favourite colour and I wanted a tattoo which was subtle and on show.
When I was 36 I had a Celtic/floral tattoo at the bottom of my back. I had wanted one for years and particularly liked the design.
2 years ago after collecting images for some time I booked a consultation with a custom tattooist. She did me a cherry blossom branch on my calf and I decided to have a full back piece done incorporating my early tattoos and getting them recoloured. I love the finished piece and to me it is a work of art. I have a woodland scene and have a tree up one side with branches going across below my shoulders. A fairy with beautiful wings is kneeling among flowers. There are petals and butterflies, sky, clouds, grass and toadstools. The original wolf and wizard look like they are in the distance, the fairy in the foreground. Did I say I love it! I will rarely show it although glimpses are often visible.
I am planning something at the top of an arm next but still working on my design. I want something easy to show when I want to and easy to cover when I don't. Seeing as it is almost 20 years since my first one I doubt I will ever have any regrets.
I find it sad that some people might not want to live next door to me but it is there loss. That kind of prejudice is hard to swallow. I own my own home, am a mum, and have a job as a legal assistant. I am a nice person and I love ink

If I were having words, I would make sure my tattooist could spell tattoo.
