What would you have as a tatoo and why?

I have posted on anther thread and it got me thinking what other people would have as words for a tatoo. I got thinking last year when there was an item on Radio 4 about 'new things to do for the leapday'
A very elderly lady was having words from a shakespeare play 'be not afeared' around her wrist. It got me thinking; I am a fifty something  woman with no tatoos and think O would have the words form Rudyard Kipling's 'If': if you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same.
I think they are great words to remember as you travel through life. Anyone have any thoughts?

Just write it on a piece of paper and keep it in your handbag.
That way, if you seriously can't memorise such a short piece of text without having it written down, you won't have to deface yourself in the process."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Personally I wouldn't have one - I think that they are truly ugly.
Putting that to one side, I would have an african flame lily on my shoulder as a homage to my homeland.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
I think (well done ones) can be beautiful and in a way works of art, there are some very talented tattooists out there. Personally i have an idea but i haven't drawn it up yet. Well actually i want 2, and if all goes to plan will be getting my first (small) one in april
That one will be a butterfly as in april i will be one year self harm free and want a permenent reminder of that milstone (and butterflies relate 1) to the butterfly project-this is a more permemnt version and 2)something to symbolise a fresh start and breaking free) This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I love tattoos but I am a chav, and I live in a chavtastic town, I have 2 of my childrens names, a cluster of stars and a bow on my underside/inside of my wrists.
I now need to figure out where to get child number 3 and with what to accompany it.
Would also like a sleeve doing, but its having the money wouldn't mind a tramp stamp on my back as well.0 -
I have, "Let it go." It has helped me immeasurably to remember at all times to let go of anger and things that affect me.
Yes, long story!*** Thank you for your consideration ***0 -
I'm another who would never, ever have a tattoo - I just don't like them! However - each to his or her own - but whatever you decide, please ensure that the spelling is correct!0

Given my pain threshold, and complete failure to grasp the attraction of tattoos, the only 'words' which would be appropriate are:
Ouch !!!!!!0 -

I have four tattoos and I love them all. Closest to my heart though is my late partner's nickname as a Japanese character on my back and a symbol for eternal life on my left calf. All my tattoos are easily hidden or shown off depending on how I feel.
To all those those who think tattoos are ugly each to their own, I think fat people in tracksuits with gorgeous across the bottom are ugly but I don't tell them

I have a tattoo on my bum. Its a butterfly and I had it done after lying on the beach and this butterfly landed right there and stayed there for about ten minutes! I decided then and there it looked so pretty - that I would have a permanent reminder. butterflies are also a symbol of transformation - which appealed to me.
lol - the only thing was - when booking the tattooI didn't realise it was my neighbour who would be doing it! was a bit embarrassing at first!0
