I'm like you zaxdog, my tattoos can be hidden easily with clothing, or on display, depending on my mood. They are personal to me like messedup's are. But flutterbyes? Really... those would freak me out, i've got one of those irrational phobias. And even typing the word freaks me :rotfl: I have my childrens' names incorporated into a big tattoo on my back, and an Angel/Devil ambigram which reminds me of my children. Just simply when people asked "how many kids have u got?" I'd say, 2, and angel and a devil.. I have had 4 tattoos, but if you had to look at them, they only look like 2. I would like another, but I'm waiting for inspiration to hit :) I actually fancy getting a sponsored tattoo done in aid of the HMSA or something :D

I have 'Live your dreams' along the length of my inner arm (elbow to wrist.) I had it because I was commuting to a job that was making me really unhappy when I've always dreamed about owning a shop and being part of the community where I live and wanted something to remind me to get out there and do something about it.

While my design was being tweaked I was made redundant and did go off and set up a business which failed miserably and now I have a tattoo to remind me of it on my daily commute :rotfl:

If I can ever afford it I plan at some point to have Desiderata in its entirety tattooed on my back. I'd like roses and bindweed (in the style of a botanical drawing) growing up one arm too.

I would never have a tattoo. My old dad used to call them "Tramp Stamps" and to be honest, if a woman moved in next door to you who had tattoos, your heart would sink, wouldn't it?

Last year during a very rare warm spell, I saw a guy with his shirt off with "ROONEY" in two inch high letters across his back near the shoulders...and a massive Everton Football Club badge underneath it!!

Ive got my eyebrows done, semi perm make up, done to look like hair strokes.

I would only have make up tattooed.

I've got lash enhancing liner tattooed as well, but it's so natural I wouldn't bother getting it redone in a few years when it wears off.

    Next thing is lip liner.

That's interesting Von - but if I were you I would be haunting those Tattooist conventions looking for the best artist with script!
Desiderata is long and the work will be very fine and detailed! btw - tell me, as this is for YOU - are you going to have it done in mirror image? so that you can see it in the mirror and to anyone else it is gibberish?

I ave semi permanent tattoos. They are supposed to fade but my aren't!

I had a piglet done on my back and pig in Chinese on my upper arm. I Roget they are there sometimes and when the shoulder one peeks out at school the kids question me no end!

I think I would have my name tattooed on me somewhere, just in case I ever forget it.

The girl that did the tattoo on my arm is brilliant so I'd go to her, I spent ages online researching tattooists before having it done.

I guess I must be wanting it for what I think it says *about* me rather than *to* me which is a little unsettling, I've never actually thought that I wouldn't be able able to read it myself :o

I do love an inspirational quote and am planning a few around the house (being of an artistic persuasion myself.) I have one on my kitchen floor but that's it so far :)

To all those those who think tattoos are ugly each to their own, I think fat people in tracksuits with gorgeous across the bottom are ugly but I don't tell them :p

Who says you can't do both?

    :D

I confess mine would if they looked like prison tattoos of were of Kermit the Frog or something but if it was someone that looked like Kat Von D (my skinnier namesake ;) ) it wouldn't.

I think the execution and how you carry yourself can make a lot of difference.
