OMG I had no idea !!! I don't buy newspapers and only see whats on-line.

I really do hope for the parents sake she is ok - I know I couldn't live with myself if I had left one of my little ones alone and something like this happened.

As far as leaving their daughter goes, I wouldn't even consider being 10 yards from my children ever, never mind on holiday.

But that isn't really what matters, at the moment there is a little girl missing, I just hope wherever she is she is ok, and that she is found safe and well soon.
One day I might be more organised...........

My daughters and I (one a mother of a 4 year old and a 2 year old, the other a primary school teacher) just can't settle either.

In my old-fashioned way, I think there's a problem with family holidays that build in the concept of 'quality time' away from the children. My daughter went to a similar resort, using the system based on a trained nanny checking on the children every 10 minutes. She was downstairs in the same building, and still has nightmares about finding her children distressed because the 10 minutes had been stretched to 20, and they were awake and crying.

Of course we can't live our lives obsessed by the possibility of the criminal round the corner, but a much simpler accident could have happened - one of the twins waking, and 'big sister' trying to help on her own.

Of course for the parents the fact that they could have made a different decision makes it worse, if that were possible.

Let's all send the most powerful thoughts we can summon to the little girl, and pray that she comes through this.
  • My heart goes out to the little girl, I pray that she is safe and found and returned. We shouldn't judge, it's difficult, but we shouldn't,we all know that we all have our own standards of bringing up our children.
This isn't about judging, it's about the safety of a 3 year old little girl. God bless.

I think the parents will judge themselves enough, more than anyone else ever could. My personal opinion is that they should NOT be judged anyway. I'm sure they loved their children as much as you and I and were lulled into a false sense of security that they will regret for the rest of their lifes. I'm sure we have all made decisions, if we are honest, at one time or another that could have had very different outcomes without realising what we were doing IYSWIM. There but for the grace of god I say. My heart goes out to the little girl, the parents, siblings extended family and friends the ripples of something like this are endless.
I am so shocked that there has been no further news updates though as it is over 24hrs since the police gave a statement. I am continually checking the news including waking up in the night just to check last night.
I'm still hoping beyond hope that it is a childless couple who have taken her and she will be found alive.

Spendless I'm sorry if I misread your post, it's very hard to judge the tone of the written word.

Have just woken up far too early, thinking that the little girl had been found. Had to check the news, only to find it was just a dream. So upsetting x

i really hope she is found safe and well.
i heard that the parents turned down the babysitting the hotel provided?
they are bad parents, you do not leave a 3 year old in a foriegn hotel room (or any hotel room) while you go and stuff your face,
i just hope they learn from there (big) mistake.

Whether they are bad parents or not, they will suffer for the rest of their lives...my heart goes to madaline. I pray they find her soon.

This should remind us all to appriciate how wonderful and precious our children are.

I just thanked Emmaroids by mistake. Emmaroids joins in alot of threads to cause as much upset as possible. Obviously very bitter and nasty. He/she will come up with the obligatory I am allowed an opinion bla bla bla but there are ways to have an opinion. Surely getting into so much debt and trying to avoid paying tax are mistakes too so how would you like it if all this site told you was IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT YOU DESERVE IT!! Where would we be in this life if everyone had your attitiude to things.
    You make my stomach turn.
You say 'you hope they learn from it'??? Are you plain stupid!!!!!!
I think, as with the drugs thread, you are attention seeking.
