thanks TNG I'm hanging around - typing is good for restless fingers! I'm feeling better now, I'm always useless in the morning cos I would have smoked about six fags with my coffee within an hour of getting up - GROSS!

    Time to switch to tea....

I got myself a bag of oranges and a bag of apples and kept them close - at least if you're going to snack, make it a healthy one ;)

ok, day one and I'm not having fun anymore - I have read countless websites for inspiration and motivation but I've heard it all before and its not having the same effect as before. patch is working and I can cope with the cravings (just) but I don't feel positive about my decision.

help......its too early to feel like this!

I think that this is because this quit attempt is more due to financial reasons and not me just wanting to be rid of fags - I'm looking at it the wrong way round like its a chore and not a positive step.

    and the fun begins.......

tpxxx I hope the day has got better for you! I'm afraid I was feeling a bit like that myself when I bought the first packet of patches and actually put one on 4th August! I was actually quite happy with smoking - sound odd I know - I live alone with no children and wasn't bothered about any of the scares etc. Can't believe I stopped actually although every time I lit up I was a bit disgusted with the smells and the habit!

I was like that ... I would roll up cigarettes as the coffee was brewing in the cafetiere and then smoke one after the other! If I got up in the middle of the night I would have a cigarette! It was getting too much though as I would smoke sometimes until I felt sick and every time I thought I was going to give up I would smoke even more.

Oh thanks jo1972 for you kind words and encouragement it really means a lot.;) Yes I did feel bad falling off the wagon and the cigarette wasn't very pleasant - although I had more than one!! I have to say although there are times you crave for one and dream about cigarettes I do feel a hell of a lot better in myself (my body) not smoking!

I am so glad that I posted here last night - didn't realise that it would affect me so much ... it's as if I am getting support thanks everyone.;)

Tobruk, I gave up for 2 years a good few years ago and when I had that first one after all that time I hated it, but in true addicts style I perserved and was back up to 40 a day in no time :D

Adzha, post how you're feeling :)
