You all happily not smoking away behind my back???

Well sorry I've been AWOL all week practically, I've been ill

Had gastro enteritus or summat, been really really rough and to be honest the thought of smoking makes me feel worse!

Getting over it now and hopefully should be back with you all properly tomorrow.

Come on everyone, pop in and say hello, give us your progress - good OR bad

Silverbullit - love the calendar - lovely way to check on progress visually - I still use my silkquit metre and feel smug!!:wave:

OK so I think that we have either got a smoking ghost, or my olfactory senses are starting to work again - every so often I get wafts of smoke - very peculiar!!!

Keep going all - we're doing brilliantly!!

Welcome back Jo. So glad that you are on the mend. Gastro Enteritis can be awful especially if the bug is very virulent and one has a sensitive tum-tum. My news is good (see next post)

Well I've done it :rotfl:. At 8:15 I had my last fag. Then after I'd had my shower and changed all my clothes I whacked on a Niquitin no.1 patch. I smoked 10 or less per day, but being a secret smoker, smoked rather intensively. Will change to the no. 2 patches after one week.

I know all you good folks will support me and keep me up to the mark, and with other help as recommended on this thread, I will persevere to the bitter end.

I'm so pleased you've jumped on the wagon!

Trust me, half of us are, sorry were, secret smokers and I was the same, I only had a small amount of time I could smoke so did it incessently! I reckon if I was an 'out of the closet' smoker then I'd be back to my original 40 a day like I was years ago!

Well done hunny, we're all here for you and I shall make an extra special effort to be around more over the next few days to give you extra encouragement

Hiya all, glad you had a good holiday Jo but sorry you hav been ill that bug is the pits. Hooray another non smoker well done Mike. You will feel great very soon.
My OH and I are trying to get fitter so we are doing lots of walking. We are very lucky in that we live quite close to Dartmoor. We went up there today and climbed a Tor [big hill] somehow lost our bearings and came down quite a way from where we should have done. This happens a lot and is normal for us. So as the time was getting on we had to go and have a bar meal. We can afford it as I don't smoke!
So think of all the things you can treat yourself to now you don't smoke and how much fitter you will get.
IDA where are you maybe still on holiday?

Hi all - how are you doing??? All good with me, hols were okay but weather was disappointing, lots of walking and site seeing and the children enjoyed it and best of all I DIDN'T SMOKE!!! YAY!!!

Good to see the forum was still busy while we were away - I think we need a session where everyone tells us where they are at - good or bad!!!

Its late and I'm looking forward to my bed - especially as I don't have to make it up and zip it up - holidays are very good for making one appreciate what one has at home - lol!

Welcome back IDA and well done!! :T I had a good holiday thanks, we enjoyed it but won't be going back lol! Butlins has a motto 'kids love it', well wanna know why that is?? Cos there is booger all to do for adults so have no choice but to spend every waking hour entertaining the kids that's why! Haven and Pontins always have the obligatory quiz at lunchtime in case it's raining, they have the darts and pool competitions etc for the adults but Butlins have nothing, nada, ziltch! All there is to do all day is walk around the pavilion being tempted into spending money in the numerous arcades. The food places are extortionate, luckily we we're half board so starved the kids till dinner lol and the bars were twice the price of a normal pub outside! There wasn't a great deal to do off site unless you wanted to drive 20 miles. But never the less I did enjoy myself Sorry went off on a tangent there lol! Glad you enjoyed your holiday eventually! What did you do?
