Feel like crying at mo - very likely that more damage done and may be very costly - if things too bad will have no choice but to forfeit the holiday cause can't fix the car and do the holiday and can't go on holiday without the car - unless of course we tow the carvan ourselves - now that could be interesting ... ha,ha! Dh has worked so hard today and will continue tomorrow and I feel bad cause I can't help , apart from supplying beverages etc, and also feeling sorry for myself!! Things could be far worse and some people suffering really badly and I'm upset cause we may lose our £500 holiday - but it really does suck. Anyway on a positive note I haven't had a fag (I have been sorely tempted) so thats something!!
sorry for whinging!
love and hugs
IDA

Oh dear Ida what an awful thing to happen. I really feel for you but I am very proud of you for not smoking. Well done that girl. Have yourself a special treat while you are waiting for the car to be fixed. It will be fixed soon and then you will be off.
Champix going VERY well Jo thank you, 7 weeks tomorrow. And 7 pounds on the scales! Feeling very good despite the excess weight and like IDA I have a pink tongue.
Come on smokers join us there are so many benefits to stopping smoking. I smoked for 40 years and I have stopped.
Take care all,
ILAI live in a small drinking town with a fishing problem0 -
Trying desperately to remind myself why I wanted to stop cause at this point could so easily throw the towel in. No I won't I'm just feeling mega sorry for myself and resentful about denying myself something ... thats a laugh .... resentful about saving money, better health, a pink tongue etc .... doesn't make sense does it! Definately won't be going away tomorrow crank shaft (?) housing cracked so that need replacing, some valves gone too gets worse by the second and to top it all dd (remember has been counting down the sleeps) keeps asking daddy to fix the car so we can go and also said we could share her holiday money (£10) - I could just cry! Anyway upwards and onwards people.
Happy smokefree day to you all.
IDA

Aww IDA, I've posted on your other thread so I won't repeat myself, just hope you stay smoke free no matter what happens cos if you do have one you'll only regret it and feel even worse in yourself.
Well I'm sat here on the computer, only turned it on to get an address for a birthday card I've got to send today and I've been on here an hour. I'm meant to be going on holiday in 2 1/2 hours but I haven't packed anything yet, cleared the car out, cleaned the fish tank out or the bird's cage and I still need to go to Tesco's and take the bird to my mums house
Ah well....I'm like this every year so I'm not going to worry about it.
This will be my last post now until next Monday unless I find a cyber cafe somewhereso please everyone, stay positive, stay smokefree and most importantly stay proud of your achievements so far!
Speak to you all when I get back, hope you're not here then IDA, lets hope you're on holiday.

Have a great holiday Jo & IDA I hope you do manage to get away.
I'm starting to feel a lot better about not smoking now - was in the pub last night & went outside to chat to friends that were smoking, and I just kept thinking that the smell was horrible, and how grateful I was for the smoking ban!
My flatmate is wavering, mainly I think because his girlfriend smokes and he's not enjoying the kissing so much now... I'm going to stay strong though - no WAY am I going to let him smoke in the flat even if he falls off the wagonTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi Storm - glad it is getting better - it does in time, but until then, there's an awful lot of agony and temper tantrums (or was that just in our house lol!).
I still love the smell - when we're out I will try to find smokers to stand next to! We were at a party a few weeks ago and I virtually cemented a friend to the chair next to me and made him chain smoke his pack!! Boy did he feel rough the next morning and I felt guilty - well, for a few moments anyway.
I'm starting to notice how my wardrobe smells - clothes that haven't been worn since I gave up - thicker warmer clothes - yet they were all cleaned before putting away. Now I now why people on ebay make statements aobut their homes being smoke free - never really understood how I smelled before - well, smoking wise anyway!!
To those who may be thinking about giving up, or who my be setting a date to do so, please feel free to join in with us - the people on here are great and really kept me on the straight and narrow - according to my silkquit meter I am 1 month, 1 week and 6 days in!! It was thanks to the support on this that I was able to do it.
Take care,
Tilly
xxThanks to this fantastic site and it's amazing people, we have paid over £63, 000 off - just over half way!!!:T THANK YOU:T0 -
Hi all
Still here, hope to get away Wed/Thurs, fingers crossed!
I know what you mean about the smell Tilly I really notice it on my "clean" clothes that have been in my wardrobe for a while, I hate to think that is how I made my children smell!!! Although I do admit to liking the smell when someone first lights up, fresh smoke nice, stale smoke eugh!!
Well done Storm you're doing really well, hope your flat mate sticks with it too, though I have to agree kissing my dh is not nice now if he's been smoking - eugh.
Was reading in the paper that pubs are smelly now because they smell of people, b.o, smelly feet, wind etc, didn't smell it before cause the smoke disguised it -lol!!!
Happy smoke free days all
