Being completely honest here, spent the rest of yesterday afternoon reading Allen Carr. Had A lovely BBQ, and one of DH's ciggies
Up at 6.30 this morning reading final chapters of AC while everyone else is asleep.

Good luck Jo, make sure you look at post no. 1 on this thread throughout the day to affirm why you're doing it. You are in all of our thoughts today
Good luck.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Thanks Jo
Will do.
Am blogging too.
Tried the Silkquitometer, I know it helps many people, find it reverse psycology (sp?) for me. Like AC see says I've already done the deed, it's behind me. Perhaps in year I'll check it

Hi FrugalJo - all the very best for today - have faith and you'll do it. On my first day I kep so busy that I couldn't even think about the weed, and was too knackered for the following two days to care!!
Baking has also helped enormously - not the waistline but then that can be dealt with at another time.
Will be thinking of you

Tilly- yep am doing the same. List of chores in my head that really need doing from ironing to listing on ebay to washing the car.
Waiting for this weeks Flylady thread on the OS board too.
Feeling good today, crunch time will be tomorrow afternoon after work, but if I start thinking it's going to be difficult then it will be.
Thanks for your support so far.The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Well hiya all - I shouldn't be here - I should be in true holiday mode in North Wales by now!!
Almost was! 5 miles away from home and bang - the car broke down! A 2 hour wait for the breakdown and it was discovered a belt had gone   so no choice but to return home again! On the positive side, dh is a mechanic so while waiting for the pick up truck we called no1 son and sent him off to car accessories shop to purchase both belts! Now its a pretty big job and lots of bits to strip off the engine, dh at it as we speak, so we may not get away until Tuesday! I admit I cried, sheer frustration (and not smoking!) but I'm over it and in true IDA fashion looking on the bright, positive (is there one - lol ) side!
I was soooo tempted to have a fag, out of frustration, anger, temper etc - especially when I knew dh had snuck off for one, but I resisted and I'm so glad I did!
love and hugs
IDA

IDA - When you get back could you let me know what the silkquit metre is please. I assume it's a website but cant find it on google.....ta!
Never mind I've found it - typed in the wrong spelling. Thanks all the same.
How horrendous for you breaking down on your way to starting your holiday. It happened to us twice, but we were on our way back fortunately so were pretty relaxed. The first time we were rescued by a nice RAC man (belt had broken). The second time I noticed a mist was coming from the exhaust, I knew it was serious but we carried on and reached home. Fortunately Mr. Plod must have been off duty that day. When I stripped the engine down I found that one of the cylinder heads had a hole in it. I think our guardian angels had been looking out for us that day.0 -
OH NO, IDA what a nightmare
I hope you're back on the road soon hun. I'm not looking forward to the drive to East Sussex tomorrow, hate driving where I don't know. It's 18.30pm and I've not even written a list of what I want to take let alone pack yet and we're going in the morning  I always do everything at last minute!
Mike, check out the first post of this thread and you'll find the silkquit (although you have already got it now!), plus loads of other helpful links on there
Speak later, I better go do a listDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Oh IDA what a terrible thing. At least your DH can fix it - mine would be lost and using foul language in a very loud tantrum!!!!
Have you got enough clothes and food - horrendous to have to unpack everything when it is all clean and ready to go and then go shopping 'cos you were expecting to be away. You really are incredibly upbeat about it all - I would be joining my OH in a serious tantrum by now.
Take care,
Tilly
