  • Did not quite get round to being smoke free today. i feel like a bit of a faliure !! My reasons are not even worth going into as basically they are exscuses tired ,friends smoking, fed up,feeling down blah blah blah and after reading your lovely kind words of encouragement i realised theese exscuses will be there wether i smoke or not .

So i have broke all the ciggarettes into tiny pieces and thrown them in the bin and i have saved myself two before i go to bed and tomorrow is a brand new day .

I have not told anyone about my thoughts to stop smoking and today at work there was a discussion about another team members personal hygene nothing nasty or spitefull but it was noted that the girl smelled of cigarettes and i became paronoid that the same was being said about me !!! probably is seeing as i am now almost a 20 a day smoker .

    not a good thing :o

Mamma, you need to get to a point where you have NO ciggies to lean on - have you tried any patches or anything?

I remember going out to sneak a fag at one job I was at - I really didnt like the women there, they were really cliquey and I was the new girl. When I came back, I sucked a mint. One said in a loud voice "I cant understand how smokers think sucking a mint stops them stinking of cigarette smoke"

bigsmoke, you are doing wonderfully well and are one of those who is making yourself be able to stay with everyday life. A good thing, where folk can hack it, as you don't then have to adapt yourself to a different life again further down the track when some folk become a little too complacent.

How long is it that you've quit for now? Must be getting on surely. Keep going strong and make sure you don't wear that elastic band TOO tight or you'll be turning a little bit :( !!! :D

mammamia, don't be too hard on yourself with yesterday (Tuesday) as you certainly can't be classed as being a bit of a failure because the first day doesn't go according to plan. Change your routine around so that all the ciggie moments get changed. At least that way you won't be coming across those timed actions and bringing those awful weak moments into play.

You said you have some patches left over, well - so long as they're not too old - then use them and help things begin to become easier for you. If they seem to have been around a while then maybe it's time to get some new ones and press on with quitting! We all know that it's a hard thing to do, but we also know that with determination, will-power and the tips you have it CAN definately be done!!!

IF today doesn't go to plan, then try again tomorrow.. and so on, but whatever happens you keep reading that list and seeing the reasons why you NEED to succeed!!! Rant all you like to us, but please don't take notice of those who appear too darned ignorant for their own good.

    All the VERY best,

Sue .......Good to see you again hethmar!

Hi all, silkquit tells me I've so far not spent £76.37 on cigarettes! That is pretty amazing - don't know where it's gone but at least it's not up in smoke!:rotfl:

I think I can say that I have not had a craving today. Had a bit of a hangover from the dept do last night and a very busy day and it just didin't cross my mind! I actually feel as though I gave up ages ago and not just two weeks and two days!
    Well done waspeze! :T

    Keep it up everyone x
