Thanks for your advice I am going to try Champinex as soon as I get to see the nurse. I had 1 one the way to work this morning as opposed to my usual 5 ( long journey!) and feel rather pleased with myself hope it lasts!

    Hi all :)
Hope you're all having a happy friday :D

Sue .. I may have been an ickle bit naughty there :o but it was a funny sight to see :D
Not sure if I remember Naomi (:o ) ... I stopped posting before june so may have been just after my time? but welcome back anyway and  here's to a successful smokefree journey :j :j

HHH .. sounds like you're already on the positive road to smokefreeness (?) cut your morning intake down to 20% and you haven't really started yet .. Brilliant :):):T :T
When/if you do go on champix if you have any questions or concerns then ask away and I (or one of the other champix takers) will be only to happy to answer or "explain" whats going on!

All the best everyone ... have a lovely weekend :A

Very well done indeed HHH! I can't help but echo all of Waspy's remarks, he's also a marvellous chap to ask about anything to do with Champix!

I knew exactly just how naughty your intentions were Waspy and if I were to tell the truth - I have to admit they were mine too and I had a really good giggle at your remarks! :rotfl:;)

Have a great weekend both, and keep indoors if you can!

All the best to everyone just started and those in the middle of the non-smoking journey, it does have an end and that victory tastes SO very sweet on getting there!! :D To those still lurking and thinking "maybe they could do it" come on in and give it your best!!!

  • Not sure about where you all are, but it has rained and rained and rained all day here. And I am SO glad not to be huddled under a tree/canopy/bit of roof-overhang trying to keep myself and my Silk Cut dry for the three freezing minutes it takes to smoke it :j

Pouring down here all day and dark, dark dark.

Yes, thats right. Thing is, when I used to stand - quite often on my own outside in the cold having the inevitable fag, afterwards I didnt really feel any better - just sort of degraded. I remember being in Beijing airport once and despite the fact all the chinese seem to be 60 a day people, the only place you could smoke was in a sort of large greenhouse. As I approached it, you couldnt see anyone inside, because it was just a thick fog. Inside everyone was standing frantically puffing on their last fag before they boarded a plane and there were big bowls of water where you had to bung your dog ends. It made me feel sick - the brown water with the fags floating around in them - and how degrading that we all stood there sucking away and not even speaking to each other.

Lots of rain here too. Town should have been busy but was deserted! I do feel sorry for shopkeepers at this time of year.

Have eaten an extraordinary amount of satsumas today - due to being stuck indoors without my weekday routine. Also disappointed in other household members so have that resentful feeling of "why am I putting myself through this when no one else gives a damn". Subsequently hav drunk bottle of red that was being saved for Christmas. Don't really want the smoke, just want the "me" thing. I don't want the "me thing" to turn into drink, or chocolate, or (my downfall) cheese cos then I will put on weight and that is why I failed on my mission last time.

Hope everyone else is feeling a bit more positive - love and luck to you all x

I know how you feel joop - I've been pigging out on chocolate last few days but I can't keep doing that. Today I've felt restless and craving for "something" but not sure what :o

Let's put it down to the weather and start again tomorrow x. I call it the fidgets. Going to a birthday party tomorrow where most smoke and lots of drink so will have to be on my guard. Maybe arrive late and leave early - but I love the people and dont want to be a bore. Will put positive messages on my phone and set them as alarms! Oh crikey - am I sounding desparate!

Taking the dog for a walk, or doing a bit of exercise may help.

Lily, do your very best to come on indoors and do something else instead of puffing on those evil things!

Rained all night here and was torrential along with near gale like winds.

joop, try hard not to give in to the wine as it can have a hand in hand feeling. Try also not to be too affected by the family, push yourself hard with an exercise regime at home or as brisk a walk as possible outdoors. You're obviously getting on great with satsumas and the great assets of pure orange juice, so when you're out and vulnerable tomorrow (or is that today!), drink OJs all the time and if you need more incentive to stay away from evil .......picture us all glowering madly at you  you'll hopefully have 2nd thoughts then!!!! ...and NO - you're not sounding desperate, you're viewing it all very, very sensibly!!! :T

Chameleon, those restless feelings are your brain trying to influence you, so ignore it! Eating too much chocolate won't help the feelings though, so beware and try ice poles instead, sour sweets too are a great cravings killer!

All the very best everyone, I sincerely wish you all well. Good luck joop, show them you CAN do it!!!
