  • Hi folks

Just wanted to stop in too and say hi, I've been keeping up with the daily digest of the posts on here but haven't popped in for a while.

Still smoke free and its great to see Schmickle and Kate are as well, as we stopped around the same time. :) All these other new quitters too - great stuff! :j

    morning everybody!

day 3 of being a no-smoker for me (although day 6 since i actually last had a cigarette, if that makes sense - i didn't make the decision until a few days in!) and i was feeling slightly less enthused about the whole thing but getting on here and reading about everyone else's progress has really got me revved up again!

and hi tuppie - sounds like you have a real battle on your hands but with the support of your health service and everyone on here it is definitely do-able. As Sue-UU said above, i think visualising how different your life is going to be without the fags really helps - there are so many benefits, not just the extra money that you'll have available, imagine how you'll feel slipping into a new outfit that you might treat yourself to with the extra cash, and knowing that your skin and hair look great, and your hands are all groomed without any nasty yellow stains on the fingers! people will be able to smell your lovely perfume instead of stale smoke (and they won't be choking on it where you've put too much on because your sense of smell is faded by the fags!!) - and you'll be buoyed by the confidence that you'll get from overcoming your demons and giving up - i'm certainly looking forward to knocking a few people dead with the 'new me' at the christmas party ;)

today's bonus of not smoking for me: i think i'm coming down with a cold (it's going round the office, i've got a sore throat) but am sure it will take me less time to get over it without the fags, and i won't have to suck so many lozenges so that i can continue to smoke (can't believe i've done that in the past!). plus, all the fruit and veg that i'm eating to try and fight it already taste a bit yummier :D

thanks for all the encouragement everybody, keep it up!

I felt like that yesterday and I'm ashamed to say I caved in yesterday evening and smoked a small roll-up :o

A friend came to my rescue with a box of patches and within 20mins of putting one on, calm was restored and I've felt great since! :j :D

hello pips still not had a nasty fag but flip me i want one, i have nothing but ulcers in my mouth one right under my tounge and a new one growing on the inside gum andi have just got rid of one bad boy on friday the Non smoking woman says its natural as it is like a detox but im thinking this inhaler is causing them and maybe i should go patches instead of just think sod it go with out full stop!?

Today was the first day i used the saved fag money and paid £10 off my Laura Ashley store card and i also cancelled the Cover insurance it protects ur goods if they get reduced but as i choped up the card a few weeks ago i aint going to be buying anything this should there for save me at least £7 per month on the bill.

hope this was a good idea.

Thank god for boiled sweets as i have a Jar from Aldi £2.49 and i take the Jar with me like a comfort blanket!

    hope everyone else is surviving???
