Afternoon all .. how's the pink lung brigade doing today? :D

This pink lung's doing fine thanks (after 18 days), although I'm really getting the hunger pangs now, which I know isn't caused by lack of food but something else:mad: . Can't bring myself to go out and buy the boiled sweets as I know I'll never stop eating them!! Actually the cause is mainly boredom. The novelty has worn off, my busy 2 weeks has passed and I'm now in the lull before Xmas. Must get busy again.
Still, I know I won't give in (how confident is that!) mainly 'cos I don't want to have to go through the giving up stage again. Do feel much better without the fags and have a great feeling of self-satisfaction.
    Keep going everyone:j

    Hi non/ex/wanna be ex smokers!

I'm also in the process of quitting - just wanted to let people know that if you're using patches, they're £5 a pack in Co-op at the moment, doesn't seem to be a special offer or anything, but compared to £15 a time it's quite a saving!
Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012
:rudolf: [STRIKE]£6,000[/STRIKE] £4,279 and counting... #217 paid off £1721 :rudolf:

  • Hey everyone. I started stopping smoking yesterday and i feel like crap sorry i'm not encouraging to any wannabe ones. I have been moody depressed and eating everything in site. I don't think it helps that its the time of the month as well and i have my driving test tomorrow BUT if i can handle all this then after it should be a breeze lol fingers crossed. I have to try and keep busy all the time so i am shopping constantly which is not saving me money Lol.

When i first tried giving up smoking i went on Champix worst things in the world to me. I spent two weeks in tears and i felt really depressed in my self i wanted to die lol only slightly joking. I personally prefer good old will power then going through that again. However they affect people different so give it ago if you are willing to accept the symptoms.
  • Hi emma jane and amy,

I just want you to know I gave up at the start of the year. The first few weeks were absolute hell but for some reason I don't really know this time I kept going. I used patches courtesy of the NHS.

Now I can say that I haven't looked back. Keep at it girls, it DOES get easier.

Sure I still get the occasional pang, but it's the same sort of feeling that I get for a lot of things that I know I can do without.
  • evening everybody, glad to see the giving up is still going strong!

i've been feeling really poorly today so no urges for cigarettes at all which is good, i could really, really use a good night's sleep though!

i don't have any plans for the weekend though, just doing chores around the house, so hoping for a very relaxing time

enjoy the weekend everyone and thanks for the sleeping tips sue, think i'll try a herbal bath right now :D

    BS x

    Good luck to you all

Oh that's so sweet of you YM, you've just made me all tearful, honest! As many people would say though, if I can help just one dear soul quit this evil habit then that alone will make it all so very worth it. Smoking used to terrify me, even though I thought I couldn't give it up and now I have it's just made me want to help as many as want to be helped!

Those that succeed are a joy to chat to - and I think there will be so many more like that on here - not because of me, but because of their own determination and will-power! Folk just like YOU!!! :D

    Thanks again YM
