The destination is the important thing, not the route!

Thanks for that TNG - I keep thinking that I will still have the nicotine addiction as I am using patches - but who cares, nicotine doesn't cause cancer - smoking does and I am not doing that!! I will make sure I follow the nurses advice to the letter and will not come off the patches till I am told! The biggest thing for me to crack is the habit rather than the addictionI think and if the patches help me do that all well and good!

Think I'm going to put on about 2 stone tho! Went and bought some lollies to suck on today to stop me reaching for the biscuits etc....

Hi schmickle. Well done you!! I ate fruit. Figured if I was going to snack on something, might as well get my five a day while I'm at it ;)

Don't worry about the weight. Tackle that down the road. One job at a time. Get off the fags and patches first and be comfortable and happy, THEN address the weight thing, if you have a problem.

Thanks TNG :) Yeah .. just started today .. so getting ready for the dreams again :rotfl:

Feel good about it .. haven't been smoking loads since I started again so will hopefully be able to get over the initial nicotine withdrawal a bit easier than last time.

    Hi TNG :hello:
  • Thanks to this forum (I was here in the beginning) I have now been a quitter for 1 year 4 months 1 week and 4 days (and no I'm not counting but my silkquit metre is :p ) I have [STRIKE]saved[/STRIKE] not spent ;) £2,122.31 on cigarettes and have added 4 weeks and six days to my life. I have no regrets - its wasn't easy but it was do -able. I'm still not complacent (realistically only 1 cigarette away from smoking again  ) but I will never smoke again because I don't want to get "sucked" :p in to that madness again.

Just wanted to offer a little support and encouragement and hope to all you new quitters, thinking about it quitters and a  to any old quitters who remember me.

    Sermon over :p:o
    love and hugs
