Hi there Feedum!!!! :hello:It really is great to see you, thanks so much for dropping in again - any time you're passing we'll be so very happy to see you and have your support. :jI hope all's well with you and all the family.
Hi again SandC. I do hope the 'do' went successfully and that you were able to resist any temptations, though I'm sure you'll tell us if you succumbed in any way. I know from your pm that you were wary of it ...anyway, time'll tell and the circle still beckons IF you slipped out of it!!!
You honestly sound as if, with the wine taken out of your life for a while, that you could easily crack it then get back to an enjoyable tipple a little further down the track. You'll get back into good health once you've quit, and having all ready done it, I think you could soon do it this time around.
Keep it up SandC and keep very, very strong! I hope you've read Feemum's post through, she was one of our greatest success stories and deserves every bit of praise at her reall great accomplishment. That's what determination did for her ...and WILL do for you in time!!!!
All the very best to you SandC and to everyone!

)
Debt Then 06.07 - £11,000 - Debt Now £0.00

Hi everyone
MoneySaving has become a hobby of mine (bordering on obsession  ) and its got to the point now where the thought of spending £45 next week on another 200 cigarettes fills me with horror! The last couple of months I have been smoking cigarettes bought on holidays, so I haven't felt the sting of buying them. But now I'm down to my last 3 packets, once these are finished I'm hoping to give up. I have my patches at the ready...
Just wanted to join in for a bit of support

i have just put out the last fag i will ever smoke.......
i have smoked since i was nine years old..:o i quit when i found out i was pregnant with my first child (now 20:eek: ) started again when he was a year old, quit again when found out pregnant with 2nd child (now 17) started again when she was 1, quit again when she was about five and didn't smoke for six years....
i then got a job that bored me to tears and started smoking again just to alleviate the boredom if i am honest and just haven't really wanted to quit since...
however, i am now in a position where i want to pay off my mortgage as soon as possible and have decided that i can no longer justify the ridiculous expense of cigarettes...plus i turned 40 a couple of months ago and know that nature is no longer on my side and i have to take more responsibility for my health....so i can't put it off any more..
my main issue is the next three days....for some reason, i have a three day 'hump'...once i am over that i have no problem with continuing the path i am on, but the first three days is definately my 'make or break' time:rolleyes: ....
i have to admit that i could do an awful lot better than i have in the past...i have spent years with the 'it's the only entertainment that i have' excuse and feel quite sad that i have deluded myself for so long....but this time it is different....publicly announcing it like this is going to help me a lot...i will be honest and tell you if i do fall off the wagon and would appreciate it if you make me feel bad if i do..:D
i haven't read all of this thread yet....but from what i have already looked at i would just like to say...well done everyone..:T :T i hope that we all acheive our goals..:D0 -
Hi everyone and very warm welcome to Damita, debbiemc and frazzmunch! It's so good to see new 'faces' ready to become quitters!!!!!
Each of your new names was such a happy sight to come to and I wish ALL of you the success that you AND your bodies deserve!
I'm sending you all a PM of what I think are helpful tips and ideas of what to do at difficult times. If any more come to me from any of us, then you'll be the first to know, I promise you!
So Damita, will there be anything different about your job on Monday or do you start a new one or a holiday maybe? How many do you work with and why do they bully you so? Folk can be very, very cruel at times Damita, but please don't let them feel they 'can' bully you and get away with it. Speak to your employers about the situation as I'm sure they'd far sooner have all their staff feeling comfortable as it makes for far better work turnout. If you need to then phone them after or before work so none of the others know you've had direct contact with them about it. One way or another, it can't be allowed to continue and if needs be, find yourself another job as soon as your able. You're more than welcome to PM me at anytime for a listening ear.
Right then Debbie, you really do sound as though you're good an ready to quit and save your health and your money! Very often the cash can be as good an incentive as anything else and if that's what really keeps you strong then go for it. Have a box/jar/account and put the money you save each day away so you can see it building up straight away. At the same time think of your health and how much that gets back to being so much better with each passing day!
Ok frazzmunch, you've succeeded before, but now it's time for your best shot at quitting in order to make THIS time the one when you quit and quit for GOOD. You've done it before and if you persevere through any known weak times, then I'm sure you'll make it through. You said you haven't read all the posts in the thread yet, well for those first 3 days you find a problem........a little light reading matter perhaps...?!Just think of the pleasure your youngsters will get at your achievements too! I hope by the time you read this, you'll have had 24 hours free from it all - and will be looking ahead to the next 24 - knowing you CAN do it.
We're here for EACH of you, so come on and pour your hearts out whenever you need to. A little further down the line and you can tell us all about your accomplishments too, so keep strong and say good bye to those dirty, smelly little sticks that do us all such harm - IF we keep allowing them to!
Ok girls, let's get on with quitting and staying that way.All the VERY best!

Hi all
Was here in March (some of you might remember me) and did really well for 3 months then just got complacent and started again
i've just been back to the docs and have got my new prescription for Champix so will be starting on the smokefree road in a week or so! Thought the doc wasn't gonna give it to me (not my usual one) and started looking through a booklet to see if he was allowed to re prescribe it, luckily he said yes
Can't see the cessation nurse til middle of november and doc won't give me a repeat prescription til i've seen her, hence not starting the tablets until 14 days prior to seeing her!
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hi:cool:
:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
