I'm the opposite, going to bed earlier, getting up later and wanting to sleep all day long :eek:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

I'm a way behind you guys but I'm on day 3 of not smoking! Tuesday night was hell and both hubby and I were in foul moods. However, last night was slightly better and today I don't feel too bad so its promising.
I'm going cold turkey this time, which I have never tried before. The first day like I said was HELL but I'm hoping the withdrawals stop more quickly with not using the patches.
If your eating at this moment, either look away or put the biscuit down...... is it just me or does stopping smoking give you really bad wind?!?:embarasse I feel like an old man and my daughter finds it hilarious! Sorry..... Anyway, at least I'm not smoking!:j0 -
Weezypoos - haven't found that with the wind, are you perhaps eating more/differently during the withdrawal period?
Good and bad days are to be expected - have you read any of the books out there or just quit?Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Weezy, maybe you should change your name to windypoos
I've actually noticed a slight increase in erm..this but put it down to the amount of crap I'm eating at the moment
Well done for going cold turkey, I'd definately recommend maybe getting either Allen Carr or Neil Caseys book though so you've got something to hand to read should the going get difficult. Maybe scour the internet for something to print off that gives you inspiration. You could even print off post no 1 on this thread, there's some pretty inspiring quotes that people have said on this thread!
It will get easier, just a matter of riding the wave.
I'm feeling a lot better today but had a dodgy day yesterday. I honestly believe that if I had a pack of fags in front of me last night I would've been extremely tempted! Luckily I didn't and I don't even know what excuse I could make to jump in the car to the shop!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Definately got more energy but also a bigger waist - sob!! Just sorting out my holiday wardrobe and I'm afraid my stomach in some of my jeans/trousers now resembles a man in jeans with a beer gut hanging over the top - euck!!! Not generally weight obsessed don't use scales just go on how my clothes fit and all my clothes snugger ..... ouch! So I have 3 day to get rid of the belly - lol - no food for me then!!! Wouldn't mind but I'm genuinely not eating more than before, I was originally but definately not now - grrrr!! As far as sleep and dreams go, I only ever had odd dreams in the past when using the patches this time I've been fine, definately feel more energised in the morning!
Jo perhaps the dreams of your dad are a message from him saying how proud he is of you! Well done on quitting the patches too - go you!!!
love and hugs all

I've given up thinking about losing a couple of pounds before my holiday. I had 3 weeks to go and decided that I needed to lose about 5lb and tone up a bit. I've got a gym that I can use every lunchtime, before or after work, it's free and there is never anyone in there so you can put whatever channel on the telly you like but I've still not gone! I am just so lazy - although still bounding up and down the stairs at the tube stationDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
I've been called worse Jo :rotfl: Maybe the name change should come into effect until the worst is over...
Both hubby and I have said that if there were a packet lying around then we both would have had one by now. Each day is a bonus though and you get that little extra incentive as you reach a new smoke free day!
I thought about the Allen Carr book but seen as I've just started saving, I thought my money should be spent elsewhere:rolleyes: May have a look on the net though and see what else I can find.
Keep it up people, we can do it!!:j0 -
Weezypoos - someone on my freecycle group was offering a load of books, one of which was the Allen Carr one (didn't bother as I've got my own copy)

Just done the worst mystery shop ever, the service was diabolical! Had to walk past the Fenchurch Street smoking step again, still the same 60 odd people outside puffing away!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
