Hi all, im on day 11, 220 fags not smoked and 55 quid saved :j
Its getting easier but on days like today when its hot and sunny it would be lovely to sit in the garden in the evening with a glass of wine and a cigarette or two! So, instead i cut the grass and watered the plants and had a cup of tea indoors afterwards. I really miss times like that and it still makes me feel very on edge when i think im not going to have another cigarette for the rest of my life ...... very scary.

Hi everyone. I have not been on since Thursday because of work and weekend etc. Quick update for everyone

    Friday - no problem
Saturday - no problem until....son's 5th birthday party. 20 lovely kids charging around house and garden having a great time. Couple of friends turned up with their slightly older children and we decided to get everyone back for a bbq (you know whats coming don't you :(). Anyway, everyone was invited back for 8pm. 7.30 i head off to the local shop for a bottle of Pimms and some Rose. .....I'm sorry but I just had to get 10 of the blighters!!!!
Anyway, had a great evening and I smoked. I really enjoyed the night and I didn't really care :(

Anyway, the better news is that I finished the packet Sunday morning over coffee and fealt I had let myself down.

So instead of smoke free for 8 days, I am back to day 2. I have not bought any more. I am back on the patches. I am not a really a drinker, but when I do have a beer or a glass of wine (usually on a Friday or saturday night) - how do you enjoy it without smoking?

I am now worried that I will always want to smoke if I socialise

Hi Wanna, long time no speak. How did you get on through the weekend? How do you feel now that you are a week + in?

Keep going and best of luck!!

(I actually felt very guilty about smoking 10 on Saturday/Sunday morning and admitting it to all of you...but I am back on the wagon, no smokes since 11.00 am on Sunday Morning)
  • Am still here and feel better for not smoking, but Friday and Saturday were easy as I was sick as a pig couldn't even get out of bed. Saying that though before I probably would have managed to crawl down the stairs to the garden to have a smoke and then feel even worse than I did before. :rotfl:

    8 days not smoke (145 cigs OMG:eek:)

It does get easier, but this is about the 10th time Ive tried to stop, and still am only a week in.

Good luck Lewki, here if you want to ramble, that seemed to work well last week.

    Day 14 or day 3

LEWKI ... you just made it easier for me, same identical situation, friends round, bbq etc, beer etc flowing, everyone having a great time - only difference I didn't buy any, got them from a friend (5 over the course of an afternoon, and very late night.)

I tell you tho' I don't feel guilty or upset - it confirmed to me what i have always known - i enjoy smoking, many others on here have confirmed that as well, but that is not the point perhaps, I am giving up that enjoyment, I don't need it, I will miss it for sure, but I am already past missing the first cigarette of the day, it was habit, nothing more, and many of the other cigs I smoked were just that - a habit.

So for me, smoking those 5 cigarettes was more of a goodbye, that's it!

So day 14 or day 3? Doesn't matter to me tbh - that was it, finished.

Very strange situation I am finding myself in....I don't want/need to smoke at work or travelling to work in the car. I appear to be well over that situation which is great. this time last week I was ranting on here every hour, now it appears every 2 hours lol
Going to be a good test tonight, dropping in to see a very good friend who has returned to UK for a flying visit - he smokes - I dont :)

I will be driving so no alcohol involved - should make it easier!
