The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Hello Everyone, I do hope you all remember me from a couple of months ago when i was trying to give up back then. I got stuck on day 3 and gave in, also had some cr*p going on but its all sorted now and I have come out a better person.
So i will just tell you a little about my trying to give up smoking since I have been away.
I quit last thursday (week yesterday) and i managed untill saturday (2days) and i only started again as someone made me get p!ssed off with them. I was also on patches for that time i did not smoke.
This time round I have not had a cig since this morning and i am not craving any as such but i do have a patch on. I do feel i can quit at any time i wanted but i just can't seem to get past day three. From tomorrow i have no patches left as i rang them doctor on Tuesday just gone to get some more but apperently i need to go in and ask them and also give them my name,d.o.b,address and what i want and what doctor. Such a hassle when i never go anywhere near my doctors when im in town. Why can't they just do it over the phone huh?
So anyways (i got side tracked then) from tomorrow im going solo  Never done this before so im abit scared but I really also want a No Spend Day which is making me more determined as funny as it sounds :rotfl:
My teeth feel alot better and its not even past day one, I know this sounds disgusting but when i have stopped smoking before after about day one i get lots of salavia on my teeth which never happen's when im a smoker :rotfl: anyone else get that? I also find brushing my teeth stops the cravings or urge to have a cigerette.
Today i have not thought much about having a cigerette, but i come into living room with my cup fo tea today and thought "right cigerette time" then realised Iam now a non smoker and i think the only reason i thought "cigerette time" was because I was heading for the spot where i usually smoke at, at night and i also had a cup of tea in my hand.
I am also going to find this very hard on sunday (if i get that far) as my mum is over and she has also got me 5 big pouches of baccy as she says if you cant give up it will last you longer than what [STRIKE]i smoke[/STRIKE] use to smoke noe which is Mayfair. When i have been smoking I have only been smoking ten which Iam also very proud of as i use to be a 20/30 day girl - so well done me :T
I also have a lot on this week coming so i dont really know if i can do this but i am going to give it my best shot
For anyone who has not seen my posts on here before Iam Mumzy and Iam a mumzy of two children aged 3 (4 next month) and 2 years.
Good luck to anyone who is thinking of quitting smoking and also Well done to anyone who has taken the steps to stop smoking and a very well done to anyone who has reached there milestone - however long that will be, (mine is 1 day from now :rotfl: )
Catch you all around and sorry for me rambling on about cr*p again.
Good night all, I will pop back tomorrow morning (I find me being on laptop for 20minutes in morning stops me craving the first cigerette of the day as iam too busy typing away and catching up with posts)
Jesus, Im still rambling..Im deffo going now..Goodnight all and Godbless x

Hello all,
Well done to Mumzy & RMC for joining the gang. Its not easy but its worth it, I quit for 3 years & then for some reason thought one every now & then wouldnt hurt.... WRONG, no such thing as just one once you've been a regular smoker.
Everyone here is really supportive & we all find that it helps to ramble & rant at times, someone is bound to have experienced similar & it really helps to know you're not alone,
wishing you lots of luck on this journey
You can do it, you can, you can, you can

Hi Mumsy,
Did you stop posting on here because you'd lit up again? If you should give in this time round don't hesitate to have a good rant on here, we're all ready to listen and it might help you stop again sooner.
If it helps I quit in Jan and haven't touched one since- I used to smoke little cigars. I've got to admit there have been days I've been bouncing off the walls, but when this happens I-1. think how much I'll smell again. 2. Think of the cost- I've now saved over £700! 3. Think how much better I've been doing at the keep-fit classes I go to- no more coughing up my lungs! Let people pee you off and then come and have a rant on here!0 -

Hi Red. I've been stopped 6 months now.
Right, Don't panic that you have nearly run out of cigs. Cravings do not last long-they're a right pain in the a**e but don't last more that a minute or so, try to keep occupied (i found that helps) Break old habits by starting new habits. If you have a cig just after a meal, go do something else to take your mind off it etc etc. Keep thinking how much healthier you will feel, you won't stink, (my kids used to say may hair and clothes and breath and everything stank!!!-refreshingly honest!!)

Hi All,
I've been missing in action since Thursday as I smoked again and was so  at myself and :embarasse. I'm really struggling to nail it.
I'm going to start again on Monday as I find it easier when I am at work so will post back then.
Well done everyone else, I am right behind you all! :rotfl:
