That water cooler is going to be emptier a lot quicker than normal :rotfl:

Ok the 11am smoke break has been and gone and whilst I've not had one I'm craving "something" I've got that empty feeling like something is missing. I can understand why so many people eat rubbish during this time. I'm going to walk round the office to the water cooler...

My worst time for the "empty feeling" is after work on a Friday evening. I want "something" - I gave up drinking so can't look forward to that, am watching my weight so cannot pig out on chocolate (which I would love to do) - trouble is nothing can replace that inhaling of nicotine.
Sad to say, disgusting as it is, I quite like the odd whiff of fresh nicotine, so one of the positives of the smoking ban is being able to indulge in someone elses smoke!! As they are generally walking outside or standing by a building. I hate the smell of stale smoke in a room or on someone's clothing, now that does remind you how vile it really is!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Good afternoon all,
I haven't managed to get on the Thread for a few days and neither have I been tempted to buy any cigarettes.:j :j
I've now been stopped more than four weekls and it'll be a calendar month tomorrow.:D
I'd like to thank you all for your support; I could mention names but that wouldn't be fair because it's so easy to forget somebody.
There would have been no chance of me getting this far without you guys and gals, and I'm eternally grateful.:T :T
It's not just that I've saved money on cigarettes, but I've cut down my alcohol intake significantly too; not a bad result at all,  and more importantly, I feel much better physically.
I'm well aware of the dangers of just having "one smoke" and don't in any way feel complacent about the dangers of being caught in the nicotine trap again.
Once again, many thanks to you all.

Hey Lula,
Saying you feel better in week 3 is encouraging... I have been well p'd off tonight! can't lift my mood if you know what I mean
.
Oh the FooFighters will be great.. I have had my 'honey' head on, and been out a few times during the non smoking weeks, and I think its easier when your in a non smoking place - so I find the pub a haven hahaha. ! I hope you really enjoy the gig - I am sure you will refrain from smoking! I find the hangover is no where near as bad either !
My DS has completely lost interest in me not smoking now!! its sooo yesterdays news... - this is the person who never used to shut up about it!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
I still haven't caught up on the thread! Loads has been going on!!
Welcome LEWKI - no smoking and no spending! Tall Order - your doing really well :T
Hey Honey, 3 weeks is definately the hill, it was for me anyway. If you remember i kept biting the OH and yelling at any opportunitiy. I blamed the cigs as anyone of us would had done. But its not been a good 5 days since i have wanted one and its not on my mind anymore.0 -
Hi all, just got back home meetings etc and rather than return to office I have come home to work this afternoon.
Firstly - GL Naomim
I know what you mean about the water. Problem is everyone in the office now thinks I have a weak bladder!!
Good news is that I fell better today, only day 3 but making steady progress. Disappointed though as I spent £4 on 2 coffees whilst out and about. Still last week that would have been £10 with the ciggies.
Also had to put diesel in car - £1.31 ltr at Didcot arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Good news is that Virgin 0% money is sitting in my current account, so I get to clear all debt to this 1 area. Plan to pay off the lot within the 15months I have interest free. Smoking will cover £2510 of debt in 15 months. That is 1 huge incentive. Will update signature later today

Only day 3 :eek:. 3 seconds , 3 minutes or 3 hours anytime not smoking when you have been addicted is superb. 3 days is a lifetime to some people without a fag. Well done and keep it up.
Dont worry about the money spent on Coffee. As you said look at it as £6 saved :T:T
Hi to everyone. You are all doing great. Life is really good without fags you know

Oh god larmy, im with you on the smell of fresh nicotine. Tonight, i pretended i needed some cash out of the wall because someone was there smoking! It is so shameful!
Anyway, i didnt get any money out (hooray!) and instead got myself a balance, which after i had read it, i needed a fag! lol Anyway, tomorrow lunchtime will be a whole week for me so im quite proud of myself.:T Last cigarette smoked 29.05.08LBM: April 08Lloyds TSB: 3,500.00 (approx) :wall:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 977 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :cool:0 -
Morning all. Another smoke free day ahead of me coming up

Hope everyone is well, day 4 for me, loads of work to do and second coffee of the day in front of me. Good luck today everyone
