Oooooh watercress? I've got tons of this indoors cos DS insists on growing pots of it all over the house! Maybe I could start a new business venture with the local stopping smoking cessation clinic :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Hi everybody, well done for a smoke-free weekend  . I've got a better sense of smell now as well, but having to go on the train and then the tube to work and back its maybe not such a good thing  I moved home recently and in my old studenty type digs I used to smoke in my bedroom. Got some clothes out at the weekend that haven't been worn since the move and they stunk of smoke. So all my clean clothes actually smelt of smoke. For a whole year. And I couldn't smell it. That is soooo horrible and people must have hated sitting next to me on the tube. Another reason I'm glad to have given up, yey :j Have a good day everybody, congrats to IDA, HW2007 and Jo for resisting temptation for this long, we can do it!Quit smoking 12th July 07 :j0

Thanks IDA - kind words. If i can help even just one person stop or stay stopped, then its been worth posting here and I will continue to do so as long as I am able.......
jo - as for good things about stopping, there really are too many of them. The biggest thing for me is that I can go anywhere and do anything without having to plan it round having a cig. I'm sure you all know the thing. "Only ten more minutes, then I can go out and have a fag", "Shall I go and have one now or wait till after dessert?" etc etc etc
It's enourmously liberating:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
Love your feeling of liberation TNG. We could become the SLA - Smokers Liberation Army and free all the smokers from their shackle to the evil weed!! Only those who want to be liberated though - lol !!!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0

ALL smokers want to be liberated, IDA - FACT!!!!
Anyone who says otherwise are either deliberately or subconciously in denial
Ask them whether, knowing what they know now and how much money they've spent etc, they would have smoked that first cigarette. That'll weed out 90% of them. With the others, use ACs analogy of the pill that doesn't taste very nice, costs loads, slowly poisons you and you will keep taking the pill for years, regardless of the cost. Like one? Explain it on those terms and NO ONE will take that pill, ergo no one wants to smoke

Hi,
You guys are ALL an inspiration to me.
CONGRATS TNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) This time plus a week next year and I will be able to come on here and post too!!! I've decided my smoke free date will now be next tuesday (14th) and I have decided that I am going to concentrate on getting myself through one day at a time.
I went for my 2nd roll up of the day half an hour ago and I didn't enjoy it at all. I can't wait to smell more - I cut down smoking a couple of months ago and it's amazing how much more I can smell already.
The AC book was still safely in my drawer at work so I will carry on reading tonight.
Hope every1 has a good day.
