Wish I could get my OH to stop, he doesn't actually think he's addicted although he's been smoking probably about 25 years  I challenged him to not smoke for a day once and he got really defensive with me so he's obviously in denial! I don't think I'd get very far with him till he realises he wanted to stop.....unfortunately I think that's a long long way offDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

I'm definitely digging out my Alan Carr tonight to re-read through - for some bizarre reason my cravings are getting worse rather than better (and not used any NRT, so I know that it's purely in my head!)
I need to find stuff to distract me - unfortunately work is really quiet today...Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Really difficult, jo. Have you tried the guilt trip? Give him the AC or NC book on YOUR birthday and say that the best present he could give you is just to read it. If he is still determined to smoke after that, then you won't say any more about it. High risk, but high reward....

Good luck for the rest of the day, as TNG said have a read of this thread, particularly the first post, there's loads of links to helpful places and reasons we've quit. Try and watch the Max Kirsten video - link in 1st post - very powerful stuff. Are you going cold turkey or getting some NRT later today?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Storm its a little like that for me too, but I think it has more to do with momentum/motivation than nicotine, for instance when we start the quit we are highly motivated etc over time, days, weeks etc the motivation wanes as the quit becomes more "normal" does that make sense??? Thats how it felt/feels for me anyway just stay focussed and breathe through them they do get easier!!
