  • Hi IDA,

Thanks for your post. I'm excatly the same as you today - imagining "how good" it use to be smoking......

I'm not avin it though - I've come this far, I'm not starting again. I'm not. I'm not. Gotta say its quite tempting. But I'm not!!!

Just had a look at our baby scan photos again - this has reminded me of one of the main reasons for giving up. So I'm not going to give up giving up!

    Sorry if I'm ranting....!

One more day for me and it would have been a full week. I can do this. And so can you.

Keep motivated. Keep up your good work. And you'll, we'll, get there in end.

    Cheerio for now! :o
    I gave up smoking on: Sunday 29th July 2007 @ 7.38pm!
    ==========================================

    Motivators for quitting:

    (1) New baby due in October 2007
    (2) Financial
    (3) Stop ignoring / resenting / inconveniencing family & friends when I need to have a cigarette
  • Dont give up! i remember that first week like it was yesterday! a big feeling of struggle and loss and emptyness! you get past it! i stopped on 13 April and i am so glad i did. i must have saved hundreds already, i cant beleive i used to smoke how blind was i!!!!
  • Keep strong - I'm sitting here pondering to whom I should offer my soul for a cig!!
BUT - imagine how low we will feel and just how much of a failure! I don't want to be one of those poor souls having to stand outside - it's degrading and we've all come such a long way.
    Take care,
    Tilly

no more smoking and we're all nicotine free ...." la,la,la etc, etc....
Sorry bit sad there but summer has arrived in the midlands, just cut both lawns without stopping, as a smoker I would stop-start all the time, fag breaks, lack of energy etc. First time I've noticed how much extra energy I have!! Hope you're all enjoying the sun, its only here for the day apparently - doh!!
    Happy smoke free days people!

I left the AC book in the drawer at work so will carry on with it tomorrow. I have put up my marquee in the back garden so the house is now a completely smoke free zone (I was smoking in the house n my room when kids were in bed).

Hi all - the weekend started out really well - Saturday I was helping a friend move house, so was kept busy all day... yesterday however was a BIG struggle... spent most of the afternoon wanting a cig, and tried going to the pub in the evening but had to go home quickly as I was seriously eyeing up all the packs of fags!

Still, nearly at a week, so I am getting there!

Well done Storm, you're doing really well!
Jet when is your quit day? Remember it has to be when YOU are ready!! Like the idea that you making your house smoke free and putting the marque up in the garden!
DH has finally admitted that he's sneaking the odd ciggie, I knew he was but he kept denying it, I've told him if thats how he needs to deal with it then fine, but not near me and if I ever ask him for one he has to say NO!!!! He was denying it cause he worried I would start again (the quit was his idea!!) which I appreciate and understand! So his intentions were good -lol! I'm still having a toughish time (on and off) which is irritating cause I feel I should be over it now - grrr!!
Oh I've just remembered - please humour me -

I QUIT SMOKING 6 WEEKS AGO TODAY - OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT -GO ME!!

Congratulations to all my fellow quitters and good luck to all those contemplating - it can be tough but always worth it!!!

    happy smoke free days.

    Morning all,

Well done everyone for having a smoke free weekend :j

I wasn't too bad at the weekend, tbh weekends are easier for me as I was a closet smoker and I spend the weekends at home and round my kids so I rarely get a chance anyway.

There are 3 things I've noticed over this weekend that are definately different, I can smell things stronger, I can taste more (OMG the peaches I had delivered in my fruit and veg box were AMAZING!) and I definately definately have more energy. I caught myself bounding down the stairs at Stratford Station this morning on the way to the Jubilee Line, I have definately not bounded in years!!

Woooohooooo IDA 6 weeks - that's like....ages :T you are going so well and such an inspiration to everyone on this board :)

I'm definately eating more too and I don't think it's due to wanting a fag so smoking instead cos this morning I've not even wanted to smoke but just sat at my desk and eaten 3 bowls of cornflakes :o and could eat another 3

Right, what's for lunch I'm starving!

IDA - big congrats on reaching 6 weeks - I think we all hope that there'll come a day when we almost instantly don't even think about smoking, but from when I've quit before I unfortunately know that it isn't the case!

Jo - I'm eating pretty much constantly at the moment, though someone on my diary recommended watercress as it's supposed to help with cravings - going to try and get some later to try it out!
