Evening all!
Well day 12 of Champix today, my quit day and I've not had a ciggie - hooray :j . I hardly touched them over the weekend as my brain finally sussed that with each ciggie came terrible nausea and dizziness (assume the Champix does this).
Can officially say I've joined the ranks of the non-smokers :T and moved to the ranks of constant snackers :rotfl: .
Well done everyone else and now to start seeing the savings clocking up.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Hey guys, seen this thread. I'm hoping to give up from now. Not smoked for the last few hours, and I seriously need to stop smoking now lol. Having 10 a day, works out about £15-£21 a week just on stupid ciggies! Just need my will power to STOP once and for all, longest I've ever stopped has been about 3 months, been a smoker for 4 years.
Congrats to those of you that have stopped. If will power fails me, I'll try the patches or gum to see if that can work.Smoke-Free since 15/11/08

Hi - first posting on the forum. Am desperate to stop smoking but have a deep down fear that i will fail.

Just seen this thread and I am desperate to stop smoking.
My name is Mrs mx5 and I am a smokeaholic seriously addicted.
I smoke 20 - 25 per day spending £5.odd a packet. Iam the only one that smokes at home and work and am now an outcast.
Reasons for stopping.
money, health, children and husband will be proud of me, smell, feeling that I am tied to something that controls me.
Give up date Thursday 1st May. Like the previous poster I will need lots of advice and support.
Last time I tried went onto patches and managed to cut down to 2 cigs per day for a fortnight, but the chemist stop smoking service wouldnt give more patches on presciption as I hadnt stopped completely. This was the excuse I needed to start smoking again.
This time I'm using patches again as that was my best success but buying them over counter.
Will read most of this thread tomorrow to prepare more.Serious Lightbulb moment Jan 09MISSION TO CLEAR DEBTSMum [strike]£660[/strike] 0 Tesco CC [strike]850[/strike] 0 Barclaycard CC [strike]2789[/strike] 0 Toysrus [strike] 357[/strike] 0 Ge Capital [strike]4768[/strike] 0DFS [strike]553.88[/strike] 0:j:j:j0 -

Good Morning nikz, jools and Mrs mx5.
Welcome to the start of the rest of your life
Seriously - I wouldn't really bother reading the whole of the thread (although it is always worth a random few pages if you find you are struggling to help you through) but do go and read the first post and have a look at some of the links there - well worth a read.
This thread will provide you with somewhere to vent or moan with people who understand and who will cheer you on when you do well and pick you up if you slip up.
It is perfectly natural for be scared of giving up and of failing - we have all been there! But for lots of us this thread means that we can say we are now non-smokers :T 45 days for me now and, other than a few days when I was an absolute monster, it has been pretty plain sailing.
It will absolutely be the best thing you ever didplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Morning feedum - sorry to hear you are a bit down...it can be a bit of an anticlimax after your monthiversary (that's when I stopped counting the days - I have to count them on my fingers now!!)
Still - it's a lovely day here and you have no ciggs on the table and your butts are in the bin
