Well done to you all.....congratulations Bellie your doing superb.
Just about to finish my first week off the fags, seem to now be finding it quite easy don't really spend anytime thinking about them...which is very strange!
When a week ago I seemed to think of nothing else!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the best thing my son said to me "Mummy you smell lovely today" so at long last the very expensive perfume i wear is finally worth it!:jPayment a Day : Creation £1416.05 Cleared June 2017

Hi all
People look me strange when I ask the following question, but I'm serious!!
What do non-smokers DO???
I'm on my 4th day of champix, and already seeing an effect on how much I smoke. My cut off day for the ciggies is Friday, but might even give up before then! The problem is the habit. When I sit down for 10 minutes and watch TV I normally have a smoke, or if I'm chatting to friends or on the phone I smoke, When I read I smoke, and so on. So what do I do when I don't smoke? Not sure if you understand what I mean, but could really do with some help!!!"I AM DEATH, NOT TAXES. I TURN UP ONLY ONCE."- Terry Pratchett0 -
My hubby wanted to quit on Friday 25 april and I told him I would quit with him but so far not very good for either of us he has some tablets from drs but i am having to go cold turkey.
Currently smoking 20 a day so this is how i'm doing and will keep posting each day how many if at all i have had!
Friday 25 april I had about 15 roll up fags
Saturday 26 april 1 roll up and 9 real cigs
I have a creditcard debt which is made up purely of ciggie purchases so will pay this off with money i save.
Sunday I am aiming for 5 cigs and then Monday my real quit day i will use a patch.LBM apr 2008,£94,761  Mad Ebay challenge #71 £2000/£106.62DFD [STRIKE]DECEMBER 2024[/STRIKE] OCTOBER 20130 -
Hi heart free. The answer is you get used to not associating an activity with a cig. I used to want a cig when I had a drink. Well the last week I spent 5 evenings drinking with smokers and just watched whilst they puffed away. The weird thing is though I used to begrudge the cig burning when I wasn't smoking it (saw it as wasting money) yet used to pay whatever a shop charged to buy them in the 1st place!Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

tealady you are so right ,the habit has you controlled to the extent you will automatically reach for a ciggy at certain times, after a week or so i found this happening less and less just ignore it  .i will tell family i have quit today (month tomorrow) should be fun:D0

Hi All,
Don't forget you can get patches on prescription instead of forking out for them at the chemists. One month's supply on prescription is roughly one tenth of the cost of buying them over the counter. Might be worth waiting a few days for an appointment.0 -
Hi all, haven't managed to post here for a while, how is everyone?
Where I live yesterday was great weather-wise, I'm now a shiny red head!!
Still haven't touched one since 3rd Jan so am feeling er-well ok smug.
Have to say it's not been easy there have been times recently where I could have just walked up the road to the corner shop and bought a packet but haven't.
Today got my usual don't like Sundays head on but, sorry rant over!0 -
Hi all,
Well done on the month Feed!!!!!
Ive done ok this week (cutting down ready for the first) im usually on 8 a day, but been cutting down since Thursday, this is what ive smoked so far (but am off out this avo so might have one while im out)
Thursday - 4 smoked
Friday - 3 smoked
Saturday - 0 smoked
Sunday - 0 smoked (so far)
Its not been too bad so far, but i think thats because i know ive got them if i really want one. I have also been making my self really ask if i want a cig rather it being my first thought when i get a bit bored.
