Very well done for deciding to quit DD.
Are you planning on using anything to help you or is it gonna be cold turkey?

Well I stubbed out my last fag about half an hour ago, so I am a non-smoker now. I'm going cold turkey, now to find that silk quit thingy.
Not an expert, but I try and contribute and I'll always listen. Middle child of middle child parents. I drink way too much coffee.

    Hi All

Just checking in to see how everybody is getting on?

Ive had a bit of tough time lately, after coming off the champix, i was hit hard with a bout of depression, still haven't smoked though! on meds for the depression now, so the battle continues!!

Great news about not smoking, not so good about the depression! Was it simply due to coming off the champix or was it due to something else? (its ok I don't want to know any details just curious as to whether the champix is causing it).

i cant think of anything else that has triggered it to be honest, everything else in life is ok!

I know champix had the potential to cause problems before i took it, so i guess it was a risk ( as is anything these days). ( also a lot of people report no problems at all)

But if anything, its reinforced the non smoking, as there is no way i am going through this again.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the support, i know no one on here has ever been really mean to me but wasnt expecting you all to be so nice especially as i failed on here before. :D

Im going to give up in 2 weeks, im going to start cutting down now but Hubby and i are on holiday from the 1st and i never smoke when its just us so ive got from the 1st til the 12th away from work and smokers, if i have my last one on the 30th and dont start again that will be a whole 12 days without a fag, if i can last that long then im hoping i will be fine.:o

Im going to go cold turkey and go for the chewing gum option, when i get back to work it will be on to the dried fruit and cups of tea the same as last time.

Just have to cut down now and get it sorted, but then i keep telling myself this should be easy becuase its now Sunday night, ive not had a cig since friday evening and i feel fine, why cant i just keep it up?

Thank you everyone :T - will lurk until my day is here
