Only when people really ANNOY me does that side come out.

    That's a long time. :)

Hopefully just a falling out and not a divorce or anything serious

Well said doltage - giving up the cigs makes us all depressed to a lesser or greater degree, exactly in the same way that any other trauma (mental or physical) does.

Feedum - happy triweekiversary for tomorrow ;)

TNG - I am just over a month (I am starting to forget how many days so it can't be bad!)

Now I am no longer in the 'determined to give up and it's a bl00dy effort' stage I am feeling whistful for a passtime that I actually enjoyed...sometimes I think that this is more likely to make me smoke than the tough stuff at the beginning.

    Tell me it gets easier???

my hubby is on champix and stopped smoking completley after 1 week on the tablets hes now on second week of not smoking whilst taking the tablets but i wurry as hes realy moody and depressed not sleeping well at night and getting v bad stomach cramps i hate him taking medication lol but ovbiously its better than smoking x

A lot of that really could just be normal stopping smoking depression and cramps. I got them every time I tried to stop in the past. I think what made it less so this time was I totally convinced myself I wanted to stop and that the champix were going to make that a lot easier for me. I stopped taking the Champix twice a day after the second week of not smoking and gave up taking them full stop in week four.

As with all "anti depressants" there is always a risk that any clinical depression could be made worse and indeed there are reported cases of suicides being linked to champix.

If you husband was clinically depressed before going on the champix your Gp should know and should be following him up very carefully. I have a long history of clinical depression (and past suicide attempts) and was told to keep close eye on my mood swings and to go straight back if I had any suicidal thoughts.

Maybe hubby has gone though a long enough withdrawal now and can manage on just one tablet a day?

    Hopefully champix is unrelated.

You could blame every pill someone is on when they commit suicide, doesn't prove a link!

I don't think anyone needs to be worried
