LMTP-don't be beating yourself up, not only have you realised the error of your ways but I admire your honesty, you came straight on here and told us and that takes guts, if I had one I think I'd just quietly slink off and say nothing, so well done and lets just take it from the top again, you know you can do it and so do we!
Decided after waking up on sunday morning feeling so ill from smoking too much the night before that i would try once again to stop.

Well done you, it's a great decision to make and you'll feel better for it!

You've also come to the right place, the support you'll find on this thread is second to none, I know that it's all well and good telling my OH/friends/colleagues how I'm getting on and they are supportive but the majority are non-smokers and don't really understand how difficult we get it, but when you come on here and tell the regulars that you're quitting you get instant support from people who are going through the same fellings or have gone through the same feelings and came out the other end unscathed.

I know it has helped me immeasurably, I find it therapeutic coming on of a morning and letting everyone know that I've gone another day without smoking and that I'm very proud of myself.

I also find dipping into one of the many many pages on this thread when I'm having a craving helps as well, it takes your mind off it and helps the time pass!

  • :D doltage - as you move forward you will also find that hearing everyone else talk about the first few days or week or strop or slip or success or whatever will keep you focussed so you don't become complacent.

You soon stop being a newbie but you will never be as old as the oldies ;)

Welcome shopaholic :T just so we know - is it 4-5 a day during the week or 4-5 over the whole week???

It makes no difference really - we are all addicted in our own perculiar way - but I am nosey :p

Cheers MFD, I know not to be complacent but I'm gaining in confidence as the days go on and I'm gonna milk them as much as possible so I can look back on them during any leaner times that may be ahead to give myself strength!
