evening jo, mfd lurkio, feedumall, thank god the weekends over, how was work for those who work?

    :confused::confused::confused::confused: weather? or this thread :o:p ?

weekends aren't long enough if you ask me.

work was, well... work. If it wasn't for the odd break I'd go nuts, but it pays the mortgage...

If you don't smoke Lurky, what do you do in your work breaks?

  • Work was good for me! I help the construction boys to play nicely together and today they all behaved really well for a change!

They had lots of positive things to say about each other and there were no 'issues' for me to deal with - it was great...although I kept saying that I thought something was missing :rotfl:

I am telling everyone that I have quit and everyone is very supportive. It is funny how every smoker I talk to goes for a fag staright afterwards...I used to do that (defiantly!!)

Went out with MIL and FIL (FIL smokes) yesterday and instead of sticking a patch on as I have done when I have gone into the 'danger zone' before I put the patch in the back pocket of my jeans...I knew it was there but I didn't need it - it is like it has the same effect even when it is not stuck to me :o

As if you all need any more convincing that I am a loon

Is that a trick question?

What most people do, I guess. Coffee... chat....toilet.... (not all at the same time, mind :D)

nope - not at all mfd.

There's a story in the AC book (I think - might be NC), where the guy gets taken out on a boat and forgets his fags and insists that his host takes him back to shore to get his fags, then doesn't smoke a single one while he is out for the rest of the day!!

    It's a comfort thing - you know it's there if needed. But..... YOU DON'T NEED IT!!!!! :T :T :T :T

I found that when I gave up smoking I found work breaks quite difficult to deal with, didn't know what to do with meself cos I was used to popping out for a fag :)

I know you've been given up for ages but just wondered if you still thought about that or if it's completely gone from your mind.

Pleased to hear you don't take the coffee into the loo....could be painful

like my packet of ciggs on the table:o
  • You have just reminded me of another wierd one (for the ladies) I ALWAYS carry a handbag, never go anywhere without... but a couple of times recently I have been sticking my mobile in my pocket with a bit of cash and popping out to the shops....

I don't need a handbag because I am not carrying cigarettes around everywhere with me!

    I am a freed woman!

completely gone! I go out at lunch and when I'm leaving the office and walk past 'smokers alley' and always have a little smile (whilst holding my breath :rotfl: ) at the gaspers. It's out of pity more than a superiority thing, honest :o

Once upon a long ago (attempt 753, if I recall ;) ), I stopped with a colleague and we used to go out for 'fresh air breaks', just to rest the eyes and clear the mind
