LMTP - all I can say is WOW - Lurkio doesn't make long posts often - you are honoured
I really, really feel for you at the moment, but on the bright side, you seem to be getting your 'I am a complete monster' phase early so at least it is fresh in everyones mind that you have a reason for being completely unreasonable lol.
I would recommend you say sorry to your dad, if you haven't already, just tell him the quitting is making you narky. Believe me from experience, people need to be told that you are struggling and if you tell people you know you are being a pig then they are more likely to keep supporting you IYSWIM.
peachblossom - which day is the 'worst' day is going to be different for all of us - can anyone remember when I was on about day 10 and I spent practically all day on here moaning about how terrible it all was. All we can promise you is that it does get easier and as long as you cope with each day at a time then we are doing great!
Does anyone remember that song 'One day at a time, sweet jey-zuss' might have been country and western????

I have apologise to my dad although he is so laid back he was just like whatever!! bless him! I've been sucking on ice all day which I found has helped. Thanks to you all for your support xxxxBEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE NOW BACK TO COMPING BIG STYLE!!0 -
Hi everyone...I have been smoke free for 4 1/2 hours so far and not feeling to bad.I had some patches in the house so put one on after finishing my last cig this morning.
I also rang the Dr and had an appointment at 1.30 today ..he gave me 2 weeks patches and some gum.I have to go back in a fortnight..he didn't think the patches would be enough because i was a 40 a day smoker...i will only have the gum if I get bad cravings though.
Feel ok at the moment and will have a look at some of those links after.
Everybody is doing so well ..well done
Well done you've took the first step. keep going xxBEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE NOW BACK TO COMPING BIG STYLE!!0 -

sucking on ice  isn't that for when you are having a baby
speaking of the mind games...the tricks that my head is playing on me have now changed completely...instead of thinking
'i need a cigarrette but I can't because I have stopped smoking'
I am thinking
'I don't need a cigarette because I don't smoke but it would be nice to just try one wouldn't it??? I'd enjoy just the one wouldn't I?'
I know that this is just my head trying to outsmart me and I am ready for it...at least I know what a manipulative mind I have :rolleyes:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

At a girl LMTP!
You're probably right with the sleep thing too, hence you not wanting to get up yesterday morning, but whatever works for you that's what's best to do, though don't forget that tangly toy!!!:D Lurkio gives a good tip about the deep breathing and think about how you feel at that time, give it a go each time you feel agitated. It does sound as though you could do with a really good, brisk walk at such times and you'd be surprised at just how much it can help you deal with the day/evening.
Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that your Mum's spending out around £70 per week if she's on 40 a day!! Another feather in your cap if you're not spending ANYTHING on them!!!:D Keep showering/bathing, you'd be amazed at how that helps with the internal and external cleansing of the body. If the 1/2 tablet of Lucozade has been advised then give it a try too.
Tomorrow is a new day so keep everything advised in mind and you'll be ok. Keep that resolve and strength up and keep reminding yourself of the reasons why you're quitting and the benefits it will bring.
