I'm serious about wanting to give up but I feel I can't do it all on my own....so I've made an appointment with my doctors surgery for tomorrow morning and will try again if there is anything they can do for me.
Surely there must be something they can do to help a pregnant woman to stop.

No I don't want to take the dog for a walk because he pulls too much on the lead he doesn't take any notice of me & all I want is a TAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel really tired I went to bed at 12 & didn't get up till 10. Is this a side effect or am I just lazy?? lol

Don't worry LMTP! It will get better, I was the same for the first few days of quitting. Just try and relax, think why am I quitting and just take a few minutes out.

I'm on day 19 now of quitting (26th day on champix). But the first few days were pretty bad for me too. Really it will get a lot better.

  • I'm taking champix. I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park but OMG!!! this is hard!!!!! I'm determined though I nee to do this now. what makes it worse is that I live with my parents my dad is totally against smoking but my mam is smoking 40 a day so I can smell the smoke wafting wherever I go!! lol!!

I'll get her off them next!! hehe :)

Thanks for all your support off to eat some carrot sticks!!
Oh forgot to mention that my friend is a smoking cessation officer & she recommended half a lucozade tablet/sweet when you crave something to do with the rush or something havn't tried it yet but might get some to give it a go xxx

Hi everyone...I have been smoke free for 4 1/2 hours so far and not feeling to bad.I had some patches in the house so put one on after finishing my last cig this morning.
I also rang the Dr and had an appointment at 1.30 today ..he gave me 2 weeks patches and some gum.I have to go back in a fortnight..he didn't think the patches would be enough because i was a 40 a day smoker...i will only have the gum if I get bad cravings though.
Feel ok at the moment and will have a look at some of those links after.
Everybody is doing so well ..well done

    Well done taxi!!! :j :j :j . Keep going!!

LMT try and chill out as much as you can, take time to yourself, have a bath, read whatever, it might make you feel a little less narky.

Hope everyone is having an ace smoke free day, :D x

  • day 5 today, and it's been the worst so far!!

Not really cravings as such more a case of the jitters IYKWIM. Am trying to keep busy and concentrate on something, anything but my concentration span has nosedived to about 2 minutes LOL

Well done everyone, it will get easier or so I'm told. My quit meter tells me I saved £37.98 already and not smoked 167 fags, frightening to think I was smoking that much and no wonder I'm a bit lost all that time spent with a fag has got to be filled with something else now.
    Quit date 27th March 2008
360 cigarettes not smoked £90 saved

Day 2 is about as bad as it is going to get, LMTP. Sit down, take four deep breaths and think about how you feel. What is the physical 'withdrawal' like? A bit like being hungry? That's easy, then... It's the bit in your head that you need to cope with. Think about why you're stopping. Write a list of ALL the reasons you can think of NOT to smoke, then look through it, calmly. Drink a glass of water. It IS going to get easier. Concentrate on getting through today and NO FURTHER. You can worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

We're all here with you - stay strong! :)
