    does any one know what the progress is since ur last cig

    eg:

    2hrs - heartrate (i think) and so on......

    At 20 minutes after quitting: At 8 hours:
    • carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal
    • oxygen level in blood increases to normal
    At 24 hours: At 48 hours:
    • nerve endings begin regrowth
    • ability to smell and taste improves
    Between 2 weeks and 3 months:
    • circulation improves
    • walking becomes easier
    • lung function increases
    Between 1 to 9 months smoke-free:

    Starting as early as a month after you quit smoking, and continuing for the next several months, you may notice significant improvements in these areas:
    • coughing
    • sinus congestion
    • fatigue
    • shortness of breath
    At One Year Smoke-Free:

    Your excess risk of coronary heart disease is decreased to half that of a smoker after one year.

    At Two years Smoke-Free:

    Your chance of achieving long-term success with quitting tobacco increases significantly after two years.

    At 5 years smoke-free:
    • from 5 to 15 years after quitting tobacco, stroke risk is reduced to that of people who have never smoked.
    At 10 years smoke-free: At 15 years smoke-free:
    • risk of coronary heart disease is now similar to that of people who have never smoked
    • risk of death returns to nearly the level of people who have never smoked

    Would guess so, but the things that change after 20 mins, would change 20 mins after each fag.

    Hi there, I am still here, 24 hours and still going strong. Woo hoo :j Though I am sitting here with a big box of roses and I intend on eating all of them :eek: . Well I need to put some weight on anyway. Hope everyone else is doing good, x

    Well done to you all for quiting.

    I've been taking Champix since last Sat and my quit date is this Sunday, any tips or anything would be appreciated. I've tried before using patches but failed. I'm fairly confident this time & just hope I suceed!! xx

    Snail's pace - well done on facing the shop, I hate it still (am I going to be weak? am I going to be weak?) but I am getting past it slowly.

    Bellie - well done, first full day :T

    SP & Bellie - better to eat than smoke I say (I am snacking on pumpkin seeds to keep me away from the sweet stuff lol)

    Adz - if you have been here since July you need to make it stick somehow :confused:

    Jo - you are a star for starting this thread, I would be lost without it!

    Well I told the people at work I don't smoke, so thats all my time there pretty much, should have very few oppurtunites.

    ageing biker and ninanpe7 both quit with champix - they will be along soon to give you some advice I am sure.
