Hi all - still no smoking and well into day 3 - although I am really starting to struggle. The dizzy spells are worsening, I had these last time I gave up and ended up undergoing tests to try and see what was wrong with me (nobody linked it to the smoking) now I see that the dizziness must be smoking related.
Has anyone else suffered badly with dizziness? Will patches make this easier?
I am so tempted to 'just buy 10' to make sure it is the nicotine withdrawal that is making me dizzy but I know I can't.
Feeling very tearful too.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! The patches will merely prolong the dizziness. It is the brain adjusting to getting more (enough) oxygen now that you are not pumping it full of nasties.
You are on day three, that is fantastically well done. Things will only get easier from here on in. Your body is nearly free of nicotine and you will start to feel calmer and less irritable/tearful. Keep going and well done :T :T :TMy_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »I am so tempted to 'just buy 10' to make sure it is the nicotine withdrawal that is making me dizzy but I know I can't.
You KNOW that is the wrong thing to do, really.......

Thanks Lurkio!
I just managed a quick dash into town to go to the post office without cracking. I have 2 other barriers to break today - the petrol station and the supermarket
I have been avoiding going to both but now both the petrol and me and DH are running on empty (was going to say fumes but I am NOT running on fumes any more!) and I can't put it off any longer.
Thanks guys - just posting on here strengthens my resolve.
Hope your afternoon wasn't too terrible GFN (((HUGS)))please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
MY Father's Daughter. You have done fantastically well!!! well done so far. Lurkio is spot on-it would not be beneficial for you to buy some just as a test!!! You aree doing so well and being so strong. Keep it up-we're all here for you!!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Thanks tattycath.
I have now been to the petrol station and to the supermarket and I still haven't bought any cigarettes (I don't have access to them anywhere else at the moment - keeping away from my mates who smoke for now). I feel much stronger now that I have faced up to these.Actually, I kind of stalked a man around Sainsburys! He smelled of cigarettes, which is not nice so I kept close to him to remind me of how horrible it is
Now it's an easy downhill into day 4 - doesn't worry me as much being at home!
Thanks again all.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi all- been away with work so haven't had to time to post. Been reading through though.
GFN- Sorry to hear you news- my thoughts are with you.
I have been having the odd one but not liking it and wish I had my old positivity not to smoke again. Back to lying to my OH on whether I am smoking or not. Have managed to get away with it though as have been away.
Will read the neil casey book again.....MTC's NO MORE PIES MEMBER NO 202 !!!

(((hugs))) to you basilcat, it was like that for me when I was with my ex. I'd stop and start on and off and was always saying that i'd stopped-i finally had to admit to him and myself that I hadn't stopped. You can only stop if you really want to though, outside pressures and influences are not the reason to stop-it has to come from within. We're all her for you mate but you have to do what feels right for you.(((hugs)))GE 36 *MFD may 2043
