Welcome In search of me!!!!! I can relate to that. Before I met my OH I used to go out every weekend and drink with my friends quite happily until the wee small hours. Now... I've moved a long way from my friends, I've hardly got a social life (apart from this) and I hardly ever drink-coz we have neither time or money, I have loads of booze in the house, but we don't have anyone to entertain and I am a social drinker.Anyway, enough about me, we'll give you as much support as we can!!!!

    Hello there lovelies,

Well I'm here to confess my sins, I'm smoking again, yep, I caved in and smoked, I guess I just wasn't ready but I will give it another shot again soon (when I'm ready this time) so I'll probably pop back then! :o

Good luck to all the quitters and quitter wannabes! I hope you all have more willpower than me!! ;)

Hi Kate, Great to hear from you!!! You are absolutely right, It has got to be the right time for you-no point in trying to quit if you don't feel your heart is in it. You have to quit for you not because you think you should. Thanks for your good wishes too!!

Hiya  - guess I should expand :o

It's the end of the Neil Casey book that you will get the benefit - then you won't need rational thinking.

Good- for some reason its annoying me at the moment, don't know why.
Anyway am off for a run in a little while, hopefully my lungs will have cleared a little bit and I can go for more than a couple of minutes!!

Hope you don't mind me just popping over here to do a bit of recruiting.

Well Kate, its not a question of being ready, over on the Alternative thread there's no popping back when 'your ready', thats the beauty of it, you feel here as if you have to leave the thread (as a loser), whereas on the Alternative thread (fast making its way onto page 5), you can just hang about endlessly, there's no such thing as failure, just degrees of success.

Think of it as base camp at the bottom of a mountain, the mountain is stopping smoking, the Alternative thread is the base camp.

Pop over for a coffee and a fag sometime. Love to have ya  .

Bricking It - I see where you are coming from and for some it maybe the right approach, everyone deals with it in their own way.
But I have to say that the in my experience if stopping smoking is like climbing a mountain then I seriously wouldn't attempt it. I think the positive approach ie starting at the top of the mountain is the easyway. By starting at the bottom it's like you have to do something, when really you don't.....
    Just my thoughts.
