Day 5 and still going! I'm feeling better today and not so irritable :o My first thought this morning wasn't wanting one - progression? :D The cravings don't seem as bad either and although I feel hungry more often, I'm sticking to crunching on carrot sticks!

    Well done you :T :T :T :T :T

    That's an important step!!!!

Bas - I wouldn't bother. It's not even original trolling..... funniest thing is - no one's biting :rotfl: :rotfl:

emmy - I find it funny that they think that this will actually deter smokers  . It won't. if a two mile walk to an all night garage doesn't deter people, I can't see ten quid a year stopping anyone

cath & everyon else (and lurkers) -

:DNeigh, neigh, and thrice neigh :D
  • Hi All,

Sorry for crashing but ive decided to kick the habit too, well, actually been thinking about it for a while but the final straw was this week, i used to spoke 20 - 30 evil things a week (not much i know but Hubby in a non smoker and i never smoked at home)

I bought 20 last saturday the 9th, it got to Sunday morning (the 17th) and i realised i still had 2 left and had not brought anymore, therefore if i havent been smoking them why do i need to buy them and make myself do it just because they are there????

So ive stopped, day 2 and ok so far, but then i did this about the same time last year and gave up for 3 months then started again.

    GL all

    Puzzled x
  • Hi everyone, big well done to all newbies, long timers, in fact everyone but me.... gave in on Sat night, too much wine again. Didnt smoke a full one, but had about 3 halves from my friend, I near enough knocked her over to grab it. Really enjoyed it as well. Felt awful the next day and definitely dont want another one but so annoyed at myself, this is the 2nd time I've done it in 3 weeks, why o why o why. Does this mean I'm a smoker? Social smoker? Failure?

Welcome puzzledbubbles-Welcome!!!! I stopped for 6 months last year then started again. Had my last smoke on 1st december 07 and not had one since. OH still smokes but-I'm trying to be strong this time.
Skintbutsmiling-it makes you human... we all have temptation at some time, and I'm sure we all have given in to temptation of one kind or another ;)
But you feel bad and annoyed-you are punishing yourself. We are still here, not to judge but to support you. So now you just put it down to experience and carry on. Just don't forget we are here to support others and receive support when the need arises. You're in good company!!

  • Yeah I know, I felt really "reckless"! If only I didn't know a single smoker I would be ok! Its just the smell it gets me every time, halfway through the neil casey book but rational thinking when out drinking just doesnt happen (to me anyway!)

    Hi lurkio!!!:D

Hiya  - guess I should expand :o

It's the end of the Neil Casey book that you will get the benefit - then you won't need rational thinking.

I didn't m,ean for you to expand on what you were saying, you just seem to make short statements and you can cut someone down in few choice words too. I tend to not have the ability to be as succinct as you-maybe that's a failing on my part, or maybe i just like to chat too much!!! ;)
