Bricking It- Whatever floats her boat- we all have our foibles, and it seems to be working so far, going the pub with fags in your bag and NOT smoking them??? That's some willpower!
Boatie- I'm full of cold as well- definitely think the cigs kept the germs away!!
Lurkio- I started neil casey last night!!

Wow bricking it, you're a perky little thing ain't ya?!
Think of me as you like but all I am doing is going with what's working for me, so what I have fags in my bag and I went to the pub?! Big deal, I didn't smoke them did I? :A
Who's to say I will carry on with the quitting lark? I could cave in any moment but I'll cross that bridge when and if I get to it! As for getting pats on the back and positivity, if people want to congratulate others then that's up to them, freedom of speech and all that!
I'm on day 4 today, still craving like crazy which is silly as I didn't smoke that much, I'll see how I get on today! I'll give my fag packet a nice valentine kiss and then pop him back in my bag! :rotfl:
I hope you all have a happy valentine's day! xxxKate

Therein lies the problem, when you're a heavy smoker of 20+ years that packet of fags would have been gone by the time I got out of the pub.Hello i'm BrickingIt.

Hi Kate- you're doing really well- keep it up !! I smoked for 20 years but at the end was down to about 5-10 per day (apart from when out drinking, then it was a lot more) but some days it was 1 or 2 !! i even went on holiday last sumer to visit OH's family in the states for 3 weeks and didn't smoke once !! The point I'm making is no matter how little you smoke- you still do- and it takes a lot of getting used to.
Kiss that packet but don't open it- believe me its not worth it and it doesn't live up to expectations !!! x:T :T :TMTC's NO MORE PIES MEMBER NO 202 !!!

Hi all!
I made a New Year resolution to stop smoking - but not until I had run for 5 miles without a break - any excuse:o
I have been running and weight-training for the past six weeks and last night finally achieved a five mile run :T :j - not going to say what I looked like except that tomatoes would be a good comparison! Anyway, threw the rest of my packet in the bin so today is my first official non-smoking day! I've kept myself busy so far but its sooooo hard! I've made a lasagne, a rice pudding, done the ironing, done the housework and taken my dog for a walk - twice! I'm doing it 'cold turkey' and I would so love to have one now - I'm even avoiding the normal route I take my dog on as it passes a shop!
I know I can get through tonight as my b/f is taking me out for a meal so no smoking there anyway! It's the rest of today that I'm worried about. I gave up 2 years ago for 6 months with the help of Zyban but there were lots of side effects so this time its all or nothing!
Help!!!!!!!Life is about laughing & living, in good times & bad, getting through whatever comes our way & looking back with a smile0 -
