  • Well I'm back from my lunchtime run and it was really, really hard work.
I stuck at it and did the 20 minutes so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself.
I really hope it starts to get easier - someone tell me it does? Please?!

Well I didn't break, I got through day one without smoking and I didn't kill anyone either! :T

So today is day two and I'm feeling awful, my head is banging, I'm snappier than I was yesterday, I'm feeling guilt for being snappy, my eyes are all puffy from crying, I could willingly commit murder today and not care, I just want to smoke!!! Will I make it through? Place bets now!

Well done Kate, You're nearly at the end of the hardest part, please stick at it. You'll feel great when you've done it, I promise.

Going to sound really silly now but my friend has just given me the Allan Carr book and I am thinking of going to buy 10 cigs and smoke while reading it! But then again I think if I've gone this far then I can read the book without smoking?!

I just want a cigarette, I know just one will turn into a lot but I'm going crazy here! Maybe I should give up giving up and try again next week when I'm not so stressed with PMT and half term?!

I know you'll all tell me to keep up with the not smoking, as it's what this thread is about, I just want to smoke!! I'm pathetic!!

  • Hey Kate, its up to you but if you are not ready to give up you won't. On the other hand you may discovera steely core inside you that will prevent you from lighting up. I didn't think much of alan carr tbh.
If you smoke you will regret it, it does not tatse nice!

Kate, you have done brilliantly so far, you should be very proud of yourself, this is a great achievement. Surely you won't let a little white stick get the better of you? Skinbutsmiling is absolutely right though, you have to give up for you coz you want to. And, no they don't taste nice once you have quit.
If I were to say what you want me to say (ok forget it this week , half term and pmt are stressful) you'll think great-licence to smoke, then next week you'll have another reason to not quit and another and the cycle will continue and you will not quit. So please read carefully do not let little white stick win, you are stronger than this. You will feel much better in the long run, financially you will feel better as well as physically. You will not stink like an ashtray any more (as we all did when we smoked) You will be more sociable-not having to nip out for a smoke in all weather. Your children will benefit long term as well as you if you don't smoke.
It's your decision but you have our full support with your quit.

I keep suddenly thinking "ooh I havent had a ciggy for days!" or I would usually have one now! Am still easting more than normal but it is calming down a bit, will be walking to work as well tomorrow- 3 miles! So also a big well sone to the new exercisers- slim and non smoking what more could we want ...!

Well the shop has shut now and as I don't want to walk 10 minutes to tesco that means another night without cigarettes! I don't know how long I'll put up with giving up but at least I know I can get through 2 days without killing people! :o

    Thank you! xx
